Can you tell me the name of that plastic piece you unscrewed at 1:45please. I’m in process of doing this and I tried to pull the hose off and
snapped that piece off with the threaded portion still in the valve body.
Thanks in dvance
Do brand new lifters need to be bled at all? I saw a video where a guy said
that if you can’t compress the lifter with your finger while they are in
the head, you could bend or break a valve ? Gonna do this job Saturday and
I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot. I planned on just soaking the new
lifters in engine oil for12 or so hrs and then just putting them right in-
please let me know if this video is the proper way . Thanks so much !
Thank you Andrew, I usually just ignore comments like that. Moreover, All
the videos on our channel are made by high school students and not the
professionals.
so after all the electrical and air breather stuff is clear….remove valve
cover, use compressor tool on valve springs, remove rocker arms, and
lifters are literally right under rocker arms?…..
Would it tick even if the engine is not running, IE I turn the crankshaft
and it starts to tick and makes the same sound after its been running for a
while? Thanks!
All we did was soak the lifters in motor oil for about 24 Hrs. I am not
sure if you will be able to compress the lifters with your fingers, but
please do your research on it. We did not “Bleed” any of the lifter. What
you see on the video is what we did. Heads up on replacing valve cover
gasket, the new gasket comes with shorter grommets. Good Luck!
well done im a mechanic my self but don’t know everything so I look into it
for people like you…. and Brandon ur being a little cock on the internet
so what if it took him 16 hrs I rather someone to take their time and to be
in a rat race and have missed something!! you really shown ur true colors
on here buddy… try not to be the internet tough guy !! j/s!!
you sound really nervous
Do you think theres a difference between Mopar parts and aftermarket parts?
I have broken that pieces at 1:42. No worries, there is hex built inside
the threads, use an Allen key to remove the broken piece.

Miller Special Tools; Tool # 8516A; price $67.73 US
look at the comments please
i have the same lifter problem. how much would it cost to get a job like
this done?
One of the best ways to learn how to do something is to try and teach it
later. Good job!
why do you need the piston on bottom?
good stuff how long did this take you?
It would tick, but think it would be hard to hear it during cranking.

too long, around 4 hrs
Normally it would be ticking sound. Smoke is caused by bad valve seals or
oil rings.
