Thank you for such a detailed and informative video. I love your
perspective, too, on the natural tendency to get angry. Boy, I hear ya!
Anyway, I’;m diving into the same job on a 2006 Grand Caravan. Thank you
so much!

Just an fyi you dont have to remove alternator you can use a pry bar to
push up on egr after taking out all the other bolts or a small 10mm socket
and an extension. Hope that helps.

Dude you just saved my butt. Thanks.. I’ve a 2007 Town & Country Touring
Special Edition and thee alternator needs changing so this helps. Also I
too break out into a British accent sometimes so you’re not alone. Also for
the tentioner I went to NAPA and bought an off the hook in a package cheap
Serpentine belt tool kit with the two interconnecting flat blades with a
1/2″ bit at the end. I’ve been able to use the tool.. Any harder and one
would need a butt plug pulling on it but it’s do’able.

Also wanted ask what brand are those colored sockets you have. They’re
really cool and wouldn’t mind getting myself a set like that. 🙂

Shaw Family Videos says:

I think you’re year has an EGR valve in a different area, harder to get to.
If you live in a state or country that requires emissions testing this may
be an issue because it needs to be replaced every 60k to 80k miles. If not
I wouldn’t worry about it.

DungeonDawg69 says:

my 2002 dodge caravan doesnt have an AGR is this something I’m supposed to
add or am i supposed have?

Shaw Family Videos says:

The EGR valve is for emissions one good thing about it is if its working
properly and you’ll get better gas mileage.

DungeonDawg69 says:

lol “EGR”

Thanks Tim, I’ve done the alternator so many times I figured this time I’d
film it so I could help out another backyard mechanic staying on the Road
brother out. That’s funny what you said about the tensioner. I almost took
out the screen on my brand new phone picking that video. LOL! As far as the
sockets go. I them at Harbor Freight you can google them they have a good
w-site. I love the colored sockets because I don’t have to fumble around
for a number on them to know what size they are
