Great video with the struts and sway bar link one. Is it safe to say a similar procedure with the rear sway bar links on the 01 caravan?
Thank you Jason, you save me a lot of money. It took a while but your videos were a big help.
What about the bearings, do i have to replace them when doing this?
I cannot say for certain since I haven’t ever done any work on a 2002, but I feel safe in suggesting that the basic concepts will be nearly the same.
Is this procedure pretty much the same for a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan?
I did this one the weekend. Very easy job. I took it in for an alignment this morning and the guys said that I had installed them incorrectly and that they could not do an alignment on them. I can tell by looking at the camber that it is way out but I thought this is what an alignment is meant to fix?
I just replaced them as a routine maintenance item at around 140k miles.
I’d have to look at my maintenance log to be sure, but as I recall it was around 140,000 miles. I replaced them as a routine maintenance item.
I am not familiar with the differences between the 2001 Caravan and 2000 Town and Country. The Quick Strut part numbers are different between the two vehicles, so I would expect there might be some differences in the installation, but the basic process should be very similar.
Is this the same way to replace on a 2000 town and country?
Great how to info. Questions. What mileage did the van have at the time you replaced the struts? What was your reasoning for replacing the struts? Thanks.
Thank you so much for taking the time and educating me on this!!!!!!!!!!!
How did you know you needed to replace the struts?
I appreciate the kind compliments. I also replaced the front & rear struts on a 2002 Ford Taurus SES using the Quick-Strut and the fronts were definitely more of a chore than on this Caravan. The trick on the Taurus was to loosen the two bolts holding the subframe so that you can get the extra 1″ of clearance that you need to remove the struts from the knuckle. Unfortunately, my camera girl wasn’t available that day.
