Hi Alexey, Thanks for the video, very helpful. I have a question though,
apart from those three mounts, does the engine have any more engine mounts?
perhaps below at the back or in the front by the radiator?

4mbrad says:

Hi Alexey, my mechanic repalced all 3 mounts and the engine and entire car
vibrates badly! He sead “it is normal for 2000 Neon”

armadaofp00p says:

i have same problem with my 2005 neon now the 3 motor mounts. i went to
pepboys for estimates damn way to much . so im still looking for cheap shop
.

SwaggerOnFullTilt says:

You’re a boss Alex. Thanks for putting the time into this video

Alexey Gavrilov says:

don’t beligh mechanic.. your car maybe shakes because of bad IDLE

Alexey Gavrilov says:

throttle body problem or maybe spark plugs or spark plug wires need to be
replaced..

hp11208 says:

Good work my friend,do your neighbors say or complain when you fix your car
on the street.

Frankie Arnone says:

you should put the water pump bolt( the bottom one on the tensioner braket)
in first!! That way theres no issiue with the water pump/ threads in the
block. That way theres no added pressure on the water pump..

Alexey Gavrilov says:

no… this is not possible it does go together like a part…

Alexey Gavrilov says:

or misfire in cylinder and i was replacing spark plugs and spark plug
wires…

Bamazrollin says:

Is it possible to change the serpentine belt tensioner without changing the
whole mount?

Alexey Gavrilov says:

yes it will help… also consider replacing lover left mount on the engine
side….. to be honest with you it’s beeter to replace all 4 mounts …. 3
on left side and 1 on the right side….

iGorot says:

just finished changing my upper, lower torque struts and right mount. the
mount was a pita to take out, but through maneuvering i managed to take it
out. i was so relieved, now my neon doesn’t shake that much, just a little
bit – i think i need to changed my left mount on top of tranny to
completely get rid of the shaking, what do u think?

Alexey Gavrilov says:

if the belt is broken the car will never start…

Alexey Gavrilov says:

they better not… 😉

hp11208 says:

Damn those mounts are badly damage.

Alexey Gavrilov says:

2002… have over 220 000 miles on him…

FallinFromTheSkyy says:

What year is this neon??

Alexey Gavrilov says:

it’s very very hard to extract the bolt from the middle mount cause it’s
hard to access… you need to do everything the same i did in my video….

xiadrune says:

I got thonged and now all 3 motor mounts are broken! Ugh 🙁 should I have a
me Hanover do the middle mount? Idk if ill be able to do the middle o e as
my bolt is cracked like yours was. I have a 2003 dodge neon. Should I
attempt it or take it to a mechanic? Thanks for the video btw.

Alexey Gavrilov says:

anyway while engine is not completely up using a crane or a chain it’s very
hard to do this labor on this neon, it’s almost no space..

Alexey Gavrilov says:

thank’s for the comment…

Alexey Gavrilov says:

😉

Alexey Gavrilov says:

yes all 3 was totally bad…

Todd Mckinney says:

Good video thanks

Alexey Gavrilov says:

currently car in perfect shape… engine is mounted like new… when i
engage drive or reverse i don’t feel nothing.. before engine was jumping,
moving…

Alexey Gavrilov says:

if something i will say that it was a flat tire 🙂

pha7gerl03 says:

we just replaced our motor mount, timing belt and water pump on my 2002
neon….but now the mechanic is saying that a bolt or belt broke and
cracked/bent 2 pipes and that is the reason why the car is shaking. I told
them that the car has been shaking for more than 4–maybe 5 years. what do
you think it is?

riverrail says:

The damage you did to that timing cover. Sounds like it was rubbing at the
end. The water pump should not be that exposed

bryang bgadnertriplet says:

You still the man for that middle motor mount is a ball buster

bryang bgadnertriplet says:

Middle mount is easier to remove by pulling transmission mount out , remove
the other mounts, lower engine and push the engine toward drivers side of
engine compartment to make room for the middle motor mount bolts to be
removed from car
