How To Replace 4 Wheel Drive CV Joint: 2001 – 2007 Dodge Dakota / Grand Cherokee  / Commander

A brief description of how to replace the constant velocity joint on a four-wheel drive axle (transfer case to differential)

Applies to below-listed vehicles:

2001 – 2007 Dodge Dakota
2001 – 2003 Dodge Duragno
2005 – 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee
2006 – 2010 Jeep Commander
2006 Mitsubishi Raider

Tools Needed to Remove and Replace axle:
– 15MM Socket
– 8MM Allen Wrench or socket
(If I recall correctly, possibly a 7mm or 6mm)
– 3/8″ drive Socket Wrench (I used a pneumatic wrench, way faster)
– Long Extension

Tools Needed to Replace CV Joint:
– Channel Locks
– C-clip Pliers
– Flathead Screwdriver
– End Cutters
(I just pressed the flathead screwdriver against the boot retaining clip and bent it back and forth until it broke off
