Your videos are fantastic. You've have inspired me to do the timing chain in my 4.7. I have a few questions. What size socket is the crankshaft pulley bolt? The second question concerns the chain guides. What size/type of socket will I need to remove the guide bolt that is fastened to the cylinder head? Drivers side top guide bolt. Also what is the torque spec for that bolt? While I have the valve covers off I will replace the lash adjusters. Can you recommend a brand? Sealed power, melling or something else. Thanks for all your videos and help. I also purchased the recommended tools so I should be all set.

Eddie Cruiser says:

Martin,I am currently doing this now,and I thought that I drained my radiator good and I removed it as well, but when I removed my timing cover antifreeze got in my oil pan and motor. Before I go any farther with it can you tell me what I did wrong to cause that to happen and do you have any advice as to how I can get the antifreeze out without hurting the motor? You sure make this look easy.I'm 50 years old and my body and joints don't work as well as they used to.So that makes it harder for me,but I like watching your video's and working on my own vehicles. You give me a lot of confidence.Thank's Martin!

Great video as usual! Do you know if it's bad if I accidentally put the transmission into Neutral while driving , then when realizing it I put it in Drive again.. (WJ 4.7) . Nothing have changed but it bugs me.

Eddie Cruiser says:

Hi Martin I'm about to put new timing chains on my 02 and I was wondering if you used any rtv when you put your timing cover back on.Nice job by the way your jeep is really looking sharp!

+ Martinbuilt….Awesome video Martin!…Well Done!….Am 2 days away from doing this same repair, 1st time on a 4.7L….What I especially liked in your instructional was the little good to know tips that prevent F—Ups or unnecessary aggravation!…..Thanks for letting me look over your shoulder!…Im excited to get er done and prevent catastrophic failure, FYI…. gonna replace all my injectors with 19lb 12 hole, all new coils, plugs, lifters, [valve stem seals—> gonna check your video out on how you went about that!]…. I usually use compressed air, but hoping you have an easier method…Anyway Engine has 290K!!…its long overdue!!

Im a bit concern about your oil pan containing debries tho.
My 04 jeep came from a "dealer" and it's been a guessing game locating parts that where taking off and never went back in the car. Thanks to you i managed to put some of them back. Cheers man!
