ak huntman says:

Did this product help with your death wobble? Or did you end up getting a
new gear box?

briansmobile1 says:

I cut out a notch in the front of the frame and welded it in. I now have a
winch bumper that is also integrated by some “wings” on the tube. The winch
bumper frame is bolted to the wings.

Mike White says:

Not to get off the subject but I have been considering making a receiver
under the front of my truck and was wondering how you have yours set up.
Thanks

rhinohidetv says:

I have an 09 2500 4X4 HD and a good case of DW. I found the site before I
found your video’s. I thought the video’s were really good. Almost a
commercial for the product but that is ok too. I think I can pull off
installing the parts. The truck has 97000 miles. Would I be correct in
assuming that I should probably go ahead and replace all the serviceable
bushings at the same time? Shocks? Thanks,Mark

Craig Wise says:

Did you replace any type of steering or other components before you
installed this?

briansmobile1 says:

Replacing the steering gear box solved the problem. This stabilizer makes
the gear box last longer and reduces frame flex. Showing an after clip
would have been a great idea. As for the stud, I’m not sure what you are
referring to.

dieselworld says:

So did it fix the problem?? You should have shown the steering wheel being
moved again so we could see the improvement. Also why did you not show the
most critical part, installing the large screw on stud? Anyway the rest of
the video was good.

Scott Ferguson says:

Great video Brian. I was wondering after you replaced the steering gear box
did you still have steering wheel play? My buddy has a 97 ram 1500 with a
good 2-3 inches play either way. Soon I am going to replace all of his
steering components as well as install the steering gear box stabilizer, I
was just wondering if I should just go ahead and tell him to order the rock
solid ram truck steering upgrade. Did you decide to install one or did the
new steering box do the trick?

dingdongdillybean says:

soooooooo if I don’t get the DW with my 98 ram, but my steering is super
sloppy, with 2.5 inches of travel on each side, should i invest in this?
Will it fix the slop? I’ve seen the other video for the new barrings at the
end of the spring on the column. Thanks, and keep up the informative
videos.

briansmobile1 says:

The key to knowing what will make the biggest difference for you is to have
someone turn your steering wheel back and forth the range of the play with
the engine off and check each component for play. Then replace the parts
that are bad.

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome man- thanks for subscribing!

INCC74656I says:

no prob, i run 3 SSD’s in a Raid array on my comp for the past 3 years.
feel free to hit me up if you need any help getting your comp to fly

MrStr8shooter says:

Hey Tim thanks for the response let me know how it goes I am thinking that
instead of being over the sway bar it will slip under the sway bar good
luck hope it works

Steve DeMartin says:

Thanks for the vids for our trucks. Love this dodge, and have done several
of your mods. Today I tackle a new steering box, pump, vacuum pump rebuild,
and shaft.

steve Icky says:

wish they thought of that back in the late 80s hated driving my dad’s Dodge
Ram pick up and his older Ram Charger…

gassolean says:

death wobble…. we’ve all been there lol great job nice product

briansmobile1 says:

The other things that can contribute are ball joints and tires.

Jose Acero says:

do they have this for a jeep wrangler 2002?

Jacklin Hyde says:

Thank YOU!!!!! That damned wobble has been irritating the shit out of me!
I’ll be ordering this product asap!

briansmobile1 says:

Way to go! You’re the MAN!!!

briansmobile1 says:

It will help keep your steering gear from failing. I would bet that with
that much weight and lift that your steering gearbox is more beat than
Muhamad Ali by retirement age. Replacing that would do the most for you.

TuckMW says:

Bro, thanks! I’ve rebuilt my ’98-2500 Diesel 4 WD’s front end 4 times over
the last 10 years and have had this problem most of that time. I’m gonna
try this kit, for sure it’s going to help provide needed stabilization, but
I think Kenman1717 is right. Those pesky trackbar bushings have to be tight!

briansmobile1 says:

I have seen it. I have that brace on my truck. It helps quite a bit and is
worth having, but I still eat gear boxes doing what I do.

briansmobile1 says:

@dollarbill82 WINNER!!!

Nikolai553 says:

watched your video and bought the same one directly after, i hope it will
help my 99 running 35s

briansmobile1 says:

@greenbay51894 yes

greenbay51894 says:

@briansmobile1 do they make one for a 2000 2wd rams

Bassmastermwh says:

hows it holding up…has the slop and play stayed away with this product?
Thanks for your vids bud….followed your layout once for building the
gambrel barn shed rafters…built a killer 14′ x 24 ‘ 2 story barn with
your help….thanks again.

DistortedDayDreamz says:

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Red-Head steering gearboxes curing
the death-wobble and have thought about purchasing one for my 99 Ram 1500,
but they are close to $400 (with ~$150 core) and I have never seen any
follow-up reviews. I tried doing a Google search on 3F gearboxes, but
nothing came up. I have already replaced every steering/suspension
component on the front end (100% Moog), minus the gearbox and steering
shaft. Springs and tires included. And the steering slop remains.

briansmobile1 says:

It may be faster and cheaper to have a person build you one?

xsteveo89 says:

Ok will do, thank you sir very helpful.

Mark Blumhardt says:

Wow great improvement. Just installed it – 60 minutes start to end of
cleanup. You are right Brian you have to muscle it in. To assist I used a
floor jack under the sway bar which helped position it while I inserted
bolts. An air ratchet sure helps get off the pitman nut off. I went with
their 40 ft./lb. torque settings but 40 lbs on sway bar bolts seemed a
little light?

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome! I know how frustrating that can be. This made a HUGE
difference on my 01. Some of the 03-05 years are really picky on lower ball
joints and tires too. The factory lower ball joints have 1/2″ play up and
down after only 30k miles and Dodge says “that’s fine and designed that
way”, but that will shake your teeth out- use MOOG problem solvers to
correct that.

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome. for the rear end I’d take the cover off the diff and check
the backlash and run-out.

basszack says:

Super easy to put in and really tightened up my steering.THANKS!!

briansmobile1 says:

@09victoryrc I LOVE MINE! I couldn’t see elk crossing the road at night not
to mention angus cows with my old faded out headlights. I can see them on
the road a mile away now.

briansmobile1 says:

You’re gonna LOVE it!

smokinjoe1969 says:

Had my first experience with Death Wobble today. Scared the crap out of me.
Thought I was going to crash. Will this get worse or is random? I have had
the 35’s on for over a year and no problems.

briansmobile1 says:

@BLOWnSMOK No, no, no! Mine was straight as an arrow. It MUST be straight.

briansmobile1 says:

Please film it and reply to this as a video response. Get a second car to
film it from the outside…. pretty, pretty please!

briansmobile1 says:

@nd318865 AWESOME!

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome!

modwickman says:

I consider you the Abraham Lincoln of automotive repair.

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome Steven!

B1ackmaze says:

My ’99 Ram 1500 really likes to wallow around on the road and pull to
whatever direction the road is leaning, resulting in me having to
consistently have the steering wheel a few degrees off center; think one of
these braces would help fix that?

TheKyridgerunner says:

Hey Brian… Thanks for these videos on the DEATH WOBBLE… i have 3 Dodge
Rams. and 2 of them had the WOBBLE so i purchased 3 Stabilizers just a few
minutes ago… THANKS THANKS THANKS.!!!

Damian Perino says:

Thanks for this video, this will help me install the steering stabilizer
once I get it. I’m putting this on my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and there is a
lot of play in my steering wheel it’s insane. I’m pretty sure I need a new
gear box too, there is about 4 inch of sway in the front of my truck, it’s
very bad if I go onto the highway. I just hope this fits my lifted Ram,
8-9″ suspension lift with a 3-4″ body lift. Has anyone put this on their
lifted truck, does it fit?
