If you have the dealer run your VIN number, they should be able to tell you
what came in it. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Ok, I am having a bleeping time finding the diameter of my front sway bar
diameter. I used a dial caliper & it shows 40MM : 1 5/8 dia: 4 5/8 circ. {
The biggest I see in Energy Suspension is a 33mm. I have checked local
parts stores, Jegs, Summit & they tell me that is not a stock sway bar….
Anyways, you have any suggestions?? 2000 Durango SLT 5.9 RWD. This Durango,
has a stock lift @ I am running 265/70/17 on stock rims w/o rubbing
anywhere. No, I did not lift it.

1A Auto Parts says:

You should be able to match them up at a hardware store, or your local
dealer should be able to get them for you. Hope this helps you out.

Do you know what the bolts are for the links (size/part number). I was
replacing the rear links and the bottom bolts torqued off on both sides. I
couldn’t get them loose with a ratchet so I had to try the air gun and well
you know what happened already.

1A Auto Parts says:

Here’s a link to a video that we did on the front sway bars. We currently
do not have a video on the rear sway bar links. They’re usually not to bad
to remove.

My mechanic told me that I needed these replaced on my 2001 Neon. It pops,
thumps and thuds on every bump. Would it make noises like that? Also,
should I get the “Kit” or just the bushings? 🙂

10jmsoccer says:

ok so after pushing down on the car for a while i was able to hear where i
think its coming from. i think its the sway bar.. so i guess I’m in the
right spot in youtube to fix it;) thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

@dangflo It’s not to bad of a job, fairly simple as you can see in the
video.

worromot024 says:

Me again, after taking a closer look at my rear sway bar i saw that it is
broken around the attachment to the strut. Should i remove it until repairs
can be made so i don’t get a explosion from the rear of my vehicle every
time i hit a bump?

1A Auto Parts says:

@worromot024 The stabilizer bar helps to keep the front end or the vehicle
from wandering at high speeds. It also helps to stabilize and help to keep
the vehicle level, when taking a turn, such as taking an exit off of the
freeway. They should be left on for safety reasons.

No problem at all. We’re having a video contest right now that you might be
interested in. Here’s a link to it on our website.

1A Auto Parts says:

You might be able to make the repair without jacking the car up.

Steve Smith says:

Thanks I need to replace my rear links.I just order them it said rear link
kit for 01 dodge dakota.

CiscoN18 says:

I’m new to fixing my own vehicle so I do apologize for the “newbie”
question. But are the bushings in the front different than those in the
rear?

1A Auto Parts says:

It sounds like it could be dry bushings. You may want to have a friend push
up and down on the car while you take a look under it to see if you can
tell where it’s coming from. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

1A Auto Parts says:

@worromot024 I would replace it as soon as possible to maintain the safety
of the vehicle.

David Weirich says:

Great vid. I am taking steering and suspension in school right now, and
it’s good to actually see a repair like this as opposed to just reading
about it in a book.

TheAirsoftMaster7 says:

Do you have a video of how to replace the sway bar end links?

worromot024 says:

Can somebody tell me what completely removing the stabilizer bar would do
to my 2001 Dodge Durango? Edit: Pros and Cons?

dangflo says:

i was told this was 3 hour job!?

@amber8949 Same thing with me 01 Dodge Neon. Oddly enough Midas wanted over
$600 to replace them.

James Waters says:

@amber8949 probably they make alot of noise but they are really easy to
replace only 2 bolts don’t need to jack up the car although it makes it
easier and just get the bushing not the kit unless you have unusable bolts.
Just replaced them in my 93 Camry today

john2000cash says:

Hi, thanks for this informative upload. Do you need to have the wheels off
the ground to replace these bushings? My car is a front wheel drive Jaguar
X Type and I need to replace the rear sway bar bushings – just like these
but they’re upside-down. Can I just drive my car over the garage pit and
remove them or does the wheel have to be jacked? Is there tension on the
bar when wheels are on the ground? Thanks again.

10jmsoccer says:

Hi, i have a question regarding my 1997 Camaro. I’m not sure if the problem
is the bushings but i wanted to ask around. Whenever i’m driving my car the
rear end makes a noise. Whether going in a strait line or turning. Its like
a whining/squeaking sound. Not sure how to describe it. Also when the car
is parked i can go and push down on the rear spoiler and it will make the
same sound. Clearly something with the rear suspension, but what?

DaddyFat Sacks says:

hello . would this be the same way on a 97 ford expedition Sir? an also are
thier only rear bushing or front ones also?
