YOU ARE A HONEST MECHANIC……NEVER SEEN ONE LIKE YOU ….YOU STAND OUT FROM THE REST!!! I SAVED MONEY BY FOLLOWING YOUR DIRECTIONS…THANKS SO MUCH!!!
They may be similar. Usually there’s only a couple of bolts that hold them in place.
Is it samewhat the same? at least
Usually they are referred to as an impact gun.
Hi,
I went to replace the shocks on my 98 Dodge Ram 1500, but I was having a hell of time trying to get the bottom bolt out. What’s the type of drill used in most garages that they use on cars?
I try searching for an impact drill, but they don’t seem to be the right tool.
We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this particular repair to a Dodge Durango.
Can you make a video of installation of the front shocks (on a 98 durango/dakota)?
Thanks so much, your videos are so helpful. You guys have helped me save a lot of money on repairs!
This was a stock Dodge Durango.
does this durango have anything special done to its rear end, the leaf springs look bigger and it has a raise in the rear end from the outside view? Just wondering and thanks for making these great videos.
You may want to check the ball joints and also the axles.
The shocks that we carry would be a direct replacement for the original part.
was looking for a side by side of the 1aauto shock compared to the one that is in the vehicle
Jack up the vehicle under the center of the rear differential/axle. Put the jack stands under the frame. Let the weight down on the jack stands but keep support under the rear differential/axle. On one of these trucks you may not even need to jack it up.
These videos are gold. I didn’t quite see where your jack was connected which probably is extremely important. I’m using a floor jack so I’ll be on my back. I don’t want to find out the hard way that the vehicle and suspension wasn’t properly supported.
As of right now, we do not have a how to video of the front shock replacement process.
Any tips on how to remove the front shocks, I’m having some trouble removing them…..
Ramps will work, follow the safety instructions that come with the ramps.
can you put the truck on ramps and take the shocks off or does it have to be jacked up?
Yeah probably is but this truck is probably never going to be driven so I did not want to waste a new one on it just wanted to show how it is done.
that shock is bad
