it should be the same bud, just opposite. just insert a bolt in every hole that has the slot, then add the others that didnt have the slot in the door skin. done! 🙂

lol..Thanks for watching Dave.

Dave Weickert says:

Thank You!
I’m not even a little mechanically inclined and thanks to this video, I replaced my regulator without any problems at all!

Now .. can you make one about investment banking? My portfolio is in the tank .. lol!

VideoGuyInDenver4321 says:

Thank you so much for posting this video. Only wish your parts store was in my town. My durango has had this issue twice over 185K miles. Last time the mechanic was around $175 which I thought fair considering parts + labor. This time I did it myself for $95 (tax included and following your step by step it took me about an hour (even going back and forth from the car to your video and back). ‘m wondering what made the cable snap in the first place, but never the less, May God bless you business!

1A Auto Parts says:

If you remove the door panel, you should be able to push it into place by hand. You may need to place something under it to help hold it in place. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

daeeast says:

Is there a way I can get the window up until I have time and money to get the regulator replaced?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to see if one of the cables on the regulator have broke, or it the window motor gear has stripped. We carry new window regulators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

daeeast says:

If you take the door panel off and the window doesn’t go up , does it mean the problem isn’t the regulator? I can still hear the motor though. Please help?

1A Auto Parts says:

If the cables on the window regulator are stuck, you may need to free them up so that you can lower the window. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

c shaf says:

great vidio thx, my window is stuck in up position, how do i get it down to remove bolts?. thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the window regulator to see if that wire have broken off of it.

brand10000 says:

My window tends to sink down all the way to the bottom and its not working with the motor to roll down, and some grey wire cord from inside looks to loose so im stuck on this part.

1A Auto Parts says:

Yes you should be able to service just the window motor on that vehicle. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

James Bohon says:

Can you just replace the motor??

1A Auto Parts says:

The Durango and the Dakota share the exact same window regulators for the quad cab models so the vehicle you were viewing is exactly what you will need to do.

CoRider62 says:

Can you guide me to replace passenger side power window regulator in my 1998 Fodge Dakota? It is different from the Durango. Thx!

This was a great video. Great way to save cash and learn something in the process. If I didn’t live in 110 degree Las Vegas I’d send in a request for a part to be shipped. Thanks for posting, I’ll use your services in the future for sure – Sir Flashman

IA auto…sorry

Chris Agnew says:

Just did this exact install on my 2000 Durango. The motor bolts were 8mm but other than that I was done in less than 10 minutes after ordering my A1auto parts and watching this video. Thanks.

1A Auto Parts says:

If you are replacing the window regulator, you can cut the wires and slowly lower the window to the correct spot so you can access the bracket holding the glass. You will need to have either someone hold the glass for you will you do this or prop up the bracket so the window doesn’t come crashing down when you cut the wires.

dabobbo says:

Great video, but what if the window is stopped in the up position? I have power to the switch, the switch works (drivers rear is the only window not working, I plugged the switch into the passenger rear and it worked fine). The window is all the way up and I don’t see a way to lower it to get at the bolts holding the window to the regulator. Any way to lower the window manually?

1A Auto Parts says:

Thanks for watching. Have a great day!

callanelly86 says:

Thank you , good video really helped. My husband and we save money , thank you very much

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the power going to the switch to see if there’s power to it. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

micheleb4464 says:

what if the regulator is just stuck and the window wont move freely up or down? does that mean its just the window switch? this is for the front driver window as well.

Adriel Torres says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You saved me at least $150.00. Amazingly easy with your video.

mcjjstearns says:

Thanks. This video was spot on. Already had my part by the time I found it, but will definitely order something from you next time. Saved me plenty of time as well as money.

1A Auto Parts says:

If theres some type of clip or tab holding it in place, once that’s removed you should be able to take it apart.

arlymimi93 says:

Okay so i have an issue where the wires connect…. My dad was trying to take out the old window regulator and he broke the little red lock piece. But thats not the problem because i got that out easy watching your video. The problem is unplugging the conection. Its almost as if the plug is stuck. Is there a way to disconnect that?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may need to loosen the cables if they are keeping the window jambed in the up position. Sometimes this will happen if a cable breaks.

abrowncitizen says:

My problem is a little plastic piece that keep the wire taunt broke. fml

1A Auto Parts says:

Here’s a video that will show you how to remove the window crank. youtube.com/watch?v=dnmPVf4KNcw

dmc4019 says:

I purchased a power window unit and a new door handle from 1a auto after I tried to remove the door panel before I saw the video and broke the door handle. My question is how do I get the window down so I can loosen the bolts that hold the window to the track. The motor died with the window up and it won’t move to put it down to get to the bolts per the video.

dmc4019 says:

My Motor gave out when my window was up so how do I get it down to get to the bolts I need to loosen first. It seems to be stuck in the up position

Steven Goode says:

Great video. I changed everything quick and without a problem. Thanks.
