Thank you for this video. I will be replacing the front bearings on my
Chrysler tomorrow morning, and this will definitely help.

1A Auto Parts says:

It would more than likely be a different procedure.

chusac says:

Will this be the same process for a 2000 300M? Thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

You may experience a noise or even some premature tire wear. 1aauto.com

Davon Thomas says:

how do you know when you need to change the wheel bearings? do u hear a
rubbing noise?

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Matti, We currently do not have an auto repair video for that particular
application. If you happen to have a Chiltons or a Haynes manual, it should
state what the size of the axle nut is.

1A Auto Parts says:

The wheel bearings you were viewing come pre-greased.

mnsaguirre says:

Incredibly well done. Thank you!

Ryan Kelly says:

Is there any easy way to tell when the bearing is bad and in need of
replacement

1A Auto Parts says:

Some vehicles are not equipped with a cotter pin for the wheel bearings
axle nut.

Asstastic696 says:

torque specs do change a bit for different years so check your book

dpl1108121 says:

are the “slides” on all cars or just the intrepeds?

1A Auto Parts says:

You should be able to apply some of the basics to your vehicle.

earl gordon says:

i have a question,my wife hit the curb on drivers side on 93 intrepid, now
the tire is turned out a bit..steering wheel wont go back to center,…now
would the problem be the tension strut?since there are only the control arm
and tension strut on there?thanks, cant find video of this…good cars, those
93 intrepids,3.3L

1A Auto Parts says:

@340rps We haven’t had one of these vehicles to make a repair video on. So
I am unsure of the actual size.

joey grani says:

what if you dont have a torque wrench

1A Auto Parts says:

Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube

340rps says:

Just take care after completing the job that your brakes do not drag. Had
this happen on a Neon after resetting the caliper and with new pads. The
brakes dragged enough to cause enough heat to melt the hub cap.

Matti Miilumäki says:

Hi, Did you find out the size of a hub nut on a 02 Sebring? Planning to fix
my Seb tomorrow. =) Kind regards, Matti

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Joey, Check out HarborFreightcom they may have an inexpensive one that’s
of decent quality. The axle nuts need to be set at the correct torque for
proper wear.

LucifersHydrogen says:

Just pay attention to your torque on the 3 bolts. When using a socket with
a extension, you will lose some torque in the twist of the extension ..
especially when you have a cheap set of tools…(the common shade tree
mechanic) I set mine to about 95 foot pounds and after.. I checked them all
again

Scott Adie says:

@cronpuffer420 it is exactly the same as a Sebring. Good video 1aauto. As
an ASE certified mechanic for 25 years, that is exactly how I would have
done it with one exception. I would have used a brass drift punch to drive
the half-shaft out of the hub, or at least to break it loose initially.
That avoids the possibility of damaging the threads. Also if someone at a
lube shop has topped of the master cylinder, it may overflow when the
caliper piston is compressed. Not harmful but messy.

340rps says:

Is the 34mm hub nut the same size on a 02 Sebring?

raymart3190 says:

Do u still need to put grease on the wheel bearing with hub assembly?

unvmematt says:

wish this video was out when i did my bearings a year ago lol. hardest part
was getting into those back 3 bolts that held the bearing on, theres not
too much room to work there.

1A Auto Parts says:

@unvmematt Thank you for checking out our videos. We add new ones just
about every day.

draggula says:

Isn’t there a cotter pin you have to install after you torque the axle nut?

1A Auto Parts says:

1A Auto Parts says:

@dpl1108121 They are not on ALL brake systems, but they are on most.

OubaDubaTuba says:

Thanks very much for this video. It gave me the confidence to do the job.
Everything else is pretty straightforward but I wouldn’t have had the
persistence to whack at the back of the hub like that to break it free from
the carrier until I saw you do it. I would have hit it with a hammer a few
times, figured something was wrong, and given up. I did it on a car with
190,000 miles and it those two pieces really get frozen together. Once they
start to separate it’s easy.

Ron B says:

Awesome video, thanks for posting…

Tombugda says:

Used this video for my 2004 Sebring. Took me about an hour. Be sure to use
penetrating liquid, I think this helped the 3 bolts that hold the hub on
come out easier. Only took a few hits with the hammer to get the hub
separated from the assembly. Great video !!!!!!

1A Auto Parts says:

Usually when they go bad you can hear them making a humming noise inside of
the car.

cronpuffer420 says:

Would this be the same way to replace a wheel bearing on a 2004 Sebring??

Jorge Morales says:

thanks a lot it’s same way for a 99 concorde.. u save me 90 bucks in labor
now i have to go to buy some beers….. cheerss…

1A Auto Parts says:

@10chunk It could be any of the steering components. You may also want to
check the tie rod end and control arms.
