This is a fine idea, I didn’t even realize that an electric option was
available. I have a cheap tailgate lock mounted where the handle goes,
similar to what you went through, without control from inside. Great video!
Whenever I haul a load of dirt or gravel, some of it spills in the crack
between the bottom of the tailgate and the bumper. In your case that debris
will hit your wires. You might consider protecting those wires with rubber
or plastic loom for durability.

tailgate… I all ready have keyless entry from factory on my 98 ram
larime. can this option be added to my system all ready?
