Thank you I’m sitting in the holiday inn parking lot with my wifes back
window down. Now I can get it back up thanks
ya only in Montana lol
I was gonna take my truck in and have it checked out,but decided to YouTube
it first. Did check wires, and what do you know. That was were my problem
was. Thanks great video.
Thanks again Brian for your demonstration. My issue is the power locks on
both rear doors Dodge 2007 Mega cab don’t work. I replaced the actuator on
the left rear door and nothing happened. I never looked for broken wires
yet. And still need to look at the right rear door power locks.
after watching this, first thing I did, was check my wires and what do you
know, completely cut apart…thanks for taking your time for the
vid…gonna go fix my truck now 🙂
@briansmobile1 winner winner chicken dinner!!!!!!!!
You’re my Hero! – Lost the drivers rear door lock 3 months ago, thought
actuator, then before I fixed that lost the passenger door lock – Thought I
was having MAJOR problems… Watched your vid, and it was the exact same
problem, new how to fix it right away thanks to you – Thank you so much!!!
great vid!
you bet
Well Done Brian, as always. This same problem exists in the 99-04 Jeep
Grand Cherokees with the WJ body. Those wires going into the driver’s front
door just break in two, and cause all types of problems. When these wires
start to break and are intermittently working they can really confuse the
PCM bus and cause strange behavior like your auto headlamps to turn off,
and on at will.
lol You’re welcome. Best of luck then!
Maybe I’m a noob, but how did they sever in the first place?
Thanks you for the video!!!!!! Really appreciate the time and
professionalism you took in making it. Walking out the door to diagnose my
door lock problem now.
Passenger window sometimes don’t go down with drivers side button? Works
fine on passenger door and all others work as well.
You’re welcome!
@chillincruisin Cars: Buick, Subaru, Honda, Toyota. Trucks: Toyota, 98-01
Dodge, 96-99 Chevy, and Fords 3/4 ton line most any year.
@kary1982v6 The wire supplier for Volkswagen (that is completely horrible)
also supplies Daimler. Only Dodge engineers are used to getting away with
more extreme bends. It’s a German thing. I often say BMW’s are the best
cars made, but from the worst steel.
Another Great Video! What year is your dodge?
@MrAbrink Good for you! Way to be of service!
You’re welcome!
That’s an interesting soldering method. I was taught to braid the wires
together, then apply heat/solder. Do you line the wires up next to each
other or…? Do you happen to have a video that shows how you solder? I’ve
been thru tons of yer stuff, but man, you got like 400 vids 🙂
Like a volksvaaagen? Vas ich das?
Thank you I have the same problem I’m going try this my self but my is 03
driver side the speaker is dead right side window is dead omg will see
thanks againg.
@trunitemare You are too kind. Thanks
love the pre tinning idea of each tip
@charliechang9mil Yes and no. If you know a wire should be power and the
whole truck is ringing like it’s ground it’s hard to find the location
unless you disconnect and probe both ends. People like Mandy from
ADPTraining know all the tricks to using it. I’m still learning. For a
short to ground I still uses a voltage drop test. I have a video saved to
my favorites on that from realfixesrealfast.
Great Vid and you made it easy… Thank you!!
You’re welcome!
@ncrdisabled Volkwagen Daimler and a few others use cheap wire. It breaks
after bending back and forth a few hundred times.
Good job. Easy to understand. Well presented. Thanks.
Great video – thanks for making it. First thing I’m going to check are my
wires (back rear, electric door lock doesn’t work). Heat shrink is
definitely the way to go.
@Shroffff I bought them in this order by price… cuz I was cheap. $7 $13
$25 $45 $120. That’s $210! It would have been cheaper to just buy the $120
one to start with.
