universal joint replacement ujoint noise solved!
This u-joint is similar on many different rear wheel drive vehicles.
The truck was making a clicking sound only on hard acceleration the noise was coming from the drive shaft. Upon further inspection when I wiggled the driveshaft I could see play in the ujoint. This video was of a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 u-joint replacement diy.

so the only tools you used was a hammer, socket, and pliers?
the whole reason I clicked on this video is so I can see how you remove the drive shaft from the truck but apparently not
