I had to take a second to comment. This is about the best video like this I
have ever seen. You explain what your doing and move on. Every single video
I watch people fumble around and add 10 min of junk no one needs to see in
the first place. Great video keep it up please.

blingua24 says:

Great vid!!! I was just wondering if you need to brace the engine to make
sure it dosen’t drop when you take the tranny out?

roadragecustoms says:

@undrunkpunk It should be very similar. Thanks.

Awesome Video thanks for posting it. Big help…

Mike Trottier says:

Is this procedure gonna be the same for a 93 Dakota 2wd with 3,9 v6? Very
detailed step by step! Much appreciated

roadragecustoms says:

@deesnutz57 How are the cap & rotor? Are you able to check fuel pressure or
compression? You can check for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner carefully
sprayed around the throttle body & intake gaskets with engine running.
Changes in RPM indicate vacuum leak. Remove 1 plug wire at a time with
running engine & check for one cylinder that isn’t affected by the wire
removal. If you find 1, that cyl, plug, wire, that part of dist cap, or
injector may be bad. Don’t spray cleaner with wire off or loose!

roadragecustoms says:

@edith4670 Give me a little more info & I’ll try to help. If you hold the
pedal down does the noise continue, or does it only do it as the pedal in
moving downward? Is the noise the same whether or not the engine is
running? Did the problem gradually start, happen all at once, or was some
trans or clutch work done then it started?

ohblondi says:

Question for the expert. How hard is it to change a manual transmission to
an automatic

skips1965 says:

Been there and done that and it is a back breaker. But if you don’t have
access to a lift, you do what you have to do.

roadragecustoms says:

That’s great. I hope it does help. Good luck when you do your clutch. If
you have any questions, I may be able to help. Feel free to ask. Thanks for
the comment.

DaytonCarCare says:

On the 4×4 model, is it possible to remove the tranny with the TC still
attached? I’m going to attempt it tomorrow. ☺ I’ve done one before, but
removed the TC from the tranny. Just trying to save a step and time.

deesnutz57 says:

i got a 1998 dodge ram 1500 2 wheel drive automatic and i changed all the
plugs (gapped correctly) and changed all the wires but it still has a bat
stutter and feels like its going to die but if u stay in it works through
and runs fine after. its only at a certain throttle point…. any ideas i
had some people say its an O2 sensor others say water in the fuel and some
even said bad injector? any ideas?

Thank you very much for the great video!

I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota and when I push the clutch pedal to change gear
it makes a very loud squeaky sound , and I want to know if it’s the
flywheel what I need to replace can you help me please?

paelgin says:

Holy crap. I don’t think I’ll be doing this in my driveway! I have a 2001
Cummins diesel with 6 speed tranny. I thought about renting some tools, but
this looks like more than I want to try. Nice job on the video; sorry about
the camera accident and I hope you didn’t bend the drawbar.

bigdodge4c says:

you make it look easy

roadragecustoms says:

@paelgin That would be a back-breaker on the ground!

roadragecustoms says:

@edith4670 If I am reading this right, you can push the clutch pedal down &
it makes a noise. It makes noise if you are not pushing the pedal down too,
or it makes noise as you hold it down? You also have the noise if the
engine is not running?

Megafan2331 says:

Outstanding way you aproach your way of showing how to.. just need more
lighting to dark on some points…

thuizar says:

Thanks for the video. I have 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 V6 that I will be
replacing the clutch for the first time after 138,000 miles. Not bad. This
video will help.

olzzen12 says:

please does anyone know what the torque specs are for the flywheal for a
manual 96 1500 5.2 please anyone

roadragecustoms says:

@ohblondi It is easier to go from manual to auto than auto to manual. You
need a radiator, flexplate, torque converter, trans cooler lines, shift
linkage (or floor shifter kit), and there may be some other misc. parts
that aren’t interchangeable: drive shaft, crossmember, mount, reverse light
switch & wiring, speed sensor, etc.

Black Box says:

Do you have to take the shifter completely off? Or could you just stop
after you take the long part off.

Tony Perea says:

Hey Deesnutz57, Im a automatic tranny builder. I had a vehicle last week in
my shop with the same issue. At light throttle, it sould shudder, but under
heavy throttle is would not do it. Checked the tranny out and found the
govorner pressure solenoid bad. Had a bunch of tranmission debris in it.
Replaced it and no more shudder.

roadragecustoms says:

Thanks. My boss used to say, “just pop the trans out, pop a clutch in it,
and pop the trans back in, Are you done yet?”

xX1FuturexMarineXx says:

Where can I look for a video on a 1995 dodge ram 1500 clutch replacement?

edith4670 says:

@roadragecustoms yes, it continues even if I’m not presing the clutch . and
the noise is not always the same, some times is softer and then loud
againg. the noise still the same whether the truck is runing or not but
always the sound is changing from loud to soft and then loud again, and the
noise start at once but I don’t know much because I only have one week with
the truck, well that’s all I know if you can help me with that litle
information I’ll appreciete. thank you for your time!

Mike Allen says:

I have an ’01 Dodge Ram 1500. Need help with figuring out why my standard
transmission is difficult going into 1st and 2nd, and will not go into
reverse while the engine is running(have to kill it so it will shift). I
have already replaced, properly, the slave cylinder….
