I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 slt 5.9 I recently changed the water pump, the
fan and the thermostat .then my check engine light came on and the code
said that the engine was staying cold for to long the code was P1281
Any suggestions or help
Thanks Man, It was a Real Help. I look forward to see other Videos that you
produce. Later Wire Dawg
Got to the end step of this video, and also thought I would have to remove
the Alt, and other housings. But the trick is to rotate the entire housing
about 180 degrees and pull upwards. If you do anything other than that, it
will just NOT come out and will otherwise drive you nuts !
anywhere. would you happen to know what could be wrong with it?
Sorry I havent worked on those engines, but generally speaking the
procedure should be similar.
will this work for a V6 01
i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9L and had just put a new radiator in and
ran fine. but after a while my engine starts to sputter and the battery
gauge drops all the way down to no charge but all the lights and stuff
remain to stay on and after a minute of sputtering like its not getting gas
then it will just completely shut off on me and after 20 minutes I can
start it and drive it and it will do the same thing, also it is throwing
antifreeze all over the engine bay cant find a leak or whole.
Just wanted to say I really appreciated your videos…had the exact same
problem in my ’96 1500 5.2L. Used your videos to fix…working great.
I have a Dodge Ram 8 cil with same heating problems………… thanks for
posting this video ……. muchas gracias.
wait til it cools down before getting anywhere near coolant (draining,
opening radiator cap..etc).
Glad I could help you out, thanks for watching.
i have 1999 dodge 1500 same problem as yours,um do i have to wait until the
car engine cool down first or it don’t have to?
Have done this job a few times.Letting the alternator swing back out of the
way gives you more room to work with for turning housing and
scraping.Remove top alt bolt and loosen bottom one..
