Dodge PCM Replacement | Bad ECM | Dodge Stalling

How to install a Dodge Durango PCM/ECU Computer. CarComputerExchange.com

If you are experiencing any engine stalling or are receiving a “no bus” code, look into replacing the PCM/ECU yourself.

How to diagnose your PCM/ECU is broken when you receive the no-bus code or p-done code:

After reading countless forums, I narrowed the problem down to the PCM/ECU. The engine would run until the PCM got too hot and then would shut the engine off. It was dangerous because it would shut down while driving. I tested it while parked and rev’d the engine to get the engine bay hot and after 10-15 minutes the engine shut off. My truck would drive fine in the morning when it was a little cooler but in the mid afternoon during the summer heat, it would shut off every time.

Please do your research before taking it to a shop. I probably saved $1,000. Most mechanics will probably replace the fuel pump and then the sensors. However, this is a known issue on Dodge vehicles that can be dangerous.

I purchased my preprogrammed PCM from carcomputerexchange.com

Sure the fuck isn't the correct location for a 2003 3.7l. Nice link for the wrong fucking size truck.

Jacob Mccloud says:

Is there a way to test the PCM before replacing it?

Very helpful video. I had to replace the PCM on my 2005 Dodge Dakota. This video, though done on a different model/year, was really quite a help as mine was very similar. Thanks!

mine is a 2000 Dodge Durango with the v8 . My truck has a steel key dosen't got a chip. Question I need to buy a pcm that needs to be programmed or just a simple pcm from the junkyard ?

Jaysiel Perez says:

Why wait 30 min to take out pcm and replace without battery ?

Matt Albin says:

DO NOT use car computer exchange. Look up their reviews first. They’re a scam, I received a faulty ecm from them and so have many other people. If you even receive one in the first place.. oh btw they don’t respond to you once they sell it.

Mike LoVetere says:

How can you start the truck with the battery cables disconnected ???!!!

James Brink says:

My 2000 RAM 1500 with 5.9L doing same thing, stalling with "no bus" error. Wiggling the connectors on the PCM brings it back for awhile. Sprayed connectors and pins with contact cleaner. Suspect cracked solder joint on PCM board. Will replace!

nick osbourn says:

I’m actually having a problem with my charging system in my 02 ram 1500 which is how I found your video. The PCM is actually draining my battery after I got a new battery and replaced my alternator.

Sinsei Zae says:

The Machanic told me $800 to replace something this simple ,dumb ass dude

MoOutdoors Tv says:

So is this a ecm or pcm? Or are they the same on these trucks
