good job, thanx. you really helped me out, appreciate that.

citrus1973 says:

Wouldn’t it have been more cost effective to separate the lower ball joint
instead of the struts to remove the axles? Then no need for an alignment
after.

1quickf4i says:

Looked like that hose wasn’t pushed all the way in the pvc valve.

mreinsmith says:

Yes you are correct, that does work. In fact that is how we put this one
back in, from the bottom up. The only problem being lifting the car up to
clear it when coming out. Again, which we did do putting the motor back in.

halleffect1 says:

have you tried lowering the powertrain unit from the bottom? undo the
subframe bolts, steering linkage and top strut mounts? looks like the whole
thing would come out pretty easy.

mreinsmith says:

This motor had 150k on it before it snapped a ring and needed to be
replaced. Otherwise the car has been very reliable, inexpensive, and easy
to fix.

MrNeonDriver says:

sounds like a lot of noise.

gamr1596 says:

why does it sound so loud?

Jacob Alexander says:

kinda sounded like i heard a vaccum leak? i always forget to hook the
vaccum hose back up to the booster

J Jones says:

are these little cars reliable, i’m about to purchase a 2001 neon

mreinsmith says:

The reason it’s so loud is because the muffler and the catalytic converter
were both gutted. They were replaced as part of this job.

relikvija says:

When you say”a ring” you mean piston ring?
