Kool video

Allen Montand says:

The instruction on this video about hand-tightening the oil filter is not a
general rule and does not apply to all engines and all filter types. The
oil filter must first be hand tightened, but In the majority of filters, it
is necessary to use the filter wrench to turn it another 3/4 to one full
turn. Napa oil filters, for example requires 3/4 turns with the filter
wrench and that is written on the body of the oil filter.

The filter part of this viedo will not apply to your 2012. The engine in
the viedo is not a 2012 3.6. On it the oil filter is on the top side of the
engine on the left side of the engine look for a big black nut this is the
oil filter cap. Use a 22mm scocket to remove cap, save the cap just pull
out the filter & it will pop loose, snap in new one & replace the o-ring on
the filter cap.

deansco1 says:

who wears the rubber gloves?

MrFluffysteel says:

Couple of items to note – when calling for rubber gloves, consider at least
wearing some. What about other safety issues – goggles? Jack-stands, or
wheel chocks?? Also, why cover the filter info with tape…maybe we’d like
to see what brand or part number for a reference….how many qts, what
viscosity?? How often do you recommend change interval?? Lots to know for
beginners or first time Dodge Caravan owners….

nelsongsosa says:

Mechanics, it’s to protect your hands from all types of stuff.

Tenchi DBZ says:

So if you are past due mileage wise, but the oil led did not come on the
dashboard (if it has one, not sure) Should I replace the oil? My bro gave
me his 2006 Caravan SE and I am still learning about it. Thanks!

pastblasting says:

Is this a 3.6 2012 Grand Caravan Engine? I got one yesterday and was
reading the manual which says, “Change the oil every 8000 miles or 6
months. I don’t drive much and changing the oil every six months seems
excessive to me. Is every 6 months really necessary?
