I did this on my mom’s van over the summer. She just tried to use her heat
and now the air isn’t getting hot. The climate selectors slide really
easy and does not appear to be switching to heat. Could you please help me
figure out where I went wrong?

AskipwawaGamers says:

@ZooSplash I replaced the blower and the new one has stopped working. Do
you know what is wrong?

OldBud123456 says:

jhartdude, A question about your replacement of blower motor ” 5th back
screw”, HOW did you get to it and how did you get it out? I have tried
everything but cannot get a flex-driver on the bolt/screw in order to get
it out. Some folks say they ‘break’ the housing instead of remove that 5th
screw. My housing is ‘rubber like plastic’ and will not break. I tried but
failed to contact the original poster of video, GOOD video also.Just wanted
to ask someone who actually did a replacement. Thanks

KarmaTiger says:

When you’re showing someone where screws are located, hold the camera
still. You’re jumping and jerking all over the place.

Very Functional Helpful Video! Very Thorough! Thank U for taking the time
to post!! luvuddad!! Are u kidding?? Ur criticizing this amateur video??
Francis Ford Coppola couldn’t do much better on a Blower Motor Video. No
would Like LUVUDAD < Idiot!

Big Ed Mustafa says:

Good video, thanks.

Just replaced the blower motor and resistor in my ’05 Grand Caravan. Thanks
for the video. I’d like to re-iterate the need to get a flexible drive
extender for the backmost screw. There are a total of 5 screws to remove —
I thought I had them all but the cover wouldn’t come off. I was trying to
avoid removing the insulation, but had to take a little out to get to that
back screw. Needless to say, that back screw didn’t go back in (4 out of 5
are holding the cover just fine). 🙂

J Joseph says:

hi ZooSplash, I watch your video and I was able to removed all the screws
including the back screw. My problem is I can’t remove the cover. The cover
only goes halfway but not entirely. I’m not sure if it is the close/open
blade that’s causing the cover not to be removed. Should I also removed all
3 screws of the motor before removing the cover all the way down? Thanks.

Jason Crowder says:

This video saved me tons of time.. just replaced my blower motor, resistor,
and relay in my 2001 Caravan after smoke began to pour out from under my
dash. The resistor melted due to bad blower motor. Thank you so much for
posting this!

Jamie Guimaraens says:

anyone help? my email is ambiensb@yahoo.com and i red on here that someones
fan only worked on high, mine did this and i replaced a blower resister its
behind the glove box!

mjunk1977 says:

So there is only 1 screw on the back? Cause I got it out and the cover
still doesn’t come off.

NA Carter says:

Thanks a million. I really needed to know how to do this. I have stop
letting these back yard mechanics rid me off. I just don’t have the money
to be overcharge for something like this anymore.

Steven Pickel says:

Thank you your video saved me a lot of money ,appreciate it very detailed.

escort500xl says:

You cannot be electrocuted by 12 volts, no matter what the amperage.

picassoart says:

Thanks Just replaced my blower motor with Your help. Once You get that last
screw out it’s easy.

Jason Soloff says:

Thank you. This was very helpful. Note that I did NOT have to yank out all
of the insulation, but this was still a ROYAL PAIN to change out. I have no
idea what Chrysler was thinking when they designed that back screw in!

savagehlb says:

Thank you very much 🙂 took one hour and its working great

fighter115115 says:

Really apreciate it never seen so much negativity towards someone who was
tryin to help ppl out at free will i guess some ppl expect the vid to do it
for em thanks

jhartdude says:

Hi OldBud, To be honest, I had almost given up. I had to tear out a fair
chunk of insulation around the screw and ‘jimmy’ the extender onto the
screw by feeling around (absolutely couldn’t see anything). And, of course,
screw #5 was cinched down the tightest. Unfortunately, I can’t offer any
other ideas than brute force. Good luck — let me know how it goes for you.

Kevin Huddleston says:

Jeez, lay off the guy. He’s just trying to help out.

ZooSplash says:

@luvadad1 Sorry best I could do by myself. The important thing is that back
screw cannot get to it unless you remove insulation and have the right
tool. And when you put it all back together be sure the vent is in the open
position as this is the defualt when the car is off. I could find no real
good vid at all so I thought Posting this would help a little for those
trying to save a hundred bucks or so.

I paid 195 dollars at a shop for the job. included a blower from the

Trans Mikey says:

Thanx Zoo. Very helpful. I just replaced mine. I found a new blower fan on
Ebay for $46. Like jhartdude said, the 5th screw that holds the outer cage
is waaaayyy back there, and hard to get to. I ended up breaking the plastic
cage where the 5th screw goes in. But it’s no big deal, because when you
put it back together, you’ll never see it.

ashlee4ful says:

Thanks for the video! I am a single Mom of an 8 year old daughter…..not
only did you save us a lot of money, I was able to teach her sometimes you
CAN fix it yourself!!! Aewsome post!!

ZooSplash says:

After carefull study.. You should replace resistor and motor at the same
time. a bad blower motor usually burns out the resistor.

thefishyfisherman says:

thanks just replaced my fan motor, lots of good advice and tips,to those
that did not like the video, pay a mechanic or make a better video, once
again THANKS

Todd Adams says:

Thanks for the video. You just saved me about $200. Got it done in about 2
1/2 hours. Would have been quicker but had to run to the hardware store to
get the extension. definitely have to have the flexible ratchet extension.
Impossible without it.

steve goddard says:

Wow those back screws really sucked.
