Does anyone know what the black plastic is called on the cable

slantfish garage says:

Thank you for making this very helpful

Roger Brewer says:

Although I have a newer 05 dodge Cummins and a 2019 F150 I still care for my running 94 dodge Cummins My dash was cracked so with this video we found the lever to adjust door straightened the cable and cut in half a 1” polymer washer and cable tied and glued it around the blend door shaft! Now it moves freely between hot and cold and I have a new dash on it! Thanks for info! Ps the screws on backside of dash at the defrost outlets geez how were we ever supposed to get those out!

Damon Wayne says:

My actuator is working but seems it’s turning freely don’t hear the door moving. Is it possible there’s something wrong with the door itself

delta3garcia says:

I have this style of selector on my 98 12V. What about if the air flow is minimal through the vents? The mode selection works as it should but it just doesn’t feel like it is blow enough through the vents in the front of the dash.

JD says:

Will this address the issue I'm having with the A/C blows only out of the defrost/defog windshield vents on my 1997 Ram?

frog frogger says:

Does turning that metal rod, brake the gears. Not taking it apart. Is this really a good idea this way?

Ashley Bull says:

Thank you for this, I've found nothing for a cable adjust heater and mine is stuck on cold!

Ryu rc says:

Dude, please look at another dodge behind the glove box. Your truck is not a good example because somebody already changed the heater core with a grinder. No other dodge looks like this behind the glove box. Unless aomebody else changes heater cores with grinders and hacksaws and muffler tape

DaniellesDilly says:

thank you for the info ..hoping i have your issue with my 97 and not a mouse nest blockage

Mike Hudson says:

I open my my glove box like that there’s a wall behind it plastic

Stenton McIntyre says:

How much of the plastic underneath has been removed? I have a 97 Ram and I can’t see what you are showing. Thanks

Ron Sparkman says:

Good info on a temp fix…
How hard of a job is it to replace it with a new on?

charles fields says:

Ha i had done something similiar on a 03 hyundai accent i had until i got new cables. You can do the same for 99-01 ram 1500 as well. Just where the electronic actuator is reach in therr with needle nose plier a small pair push up on the rod and then turn it. Itll go into the position you want then.

SlowandLoud says:

How much would you say that rod turns? Mine only goes maybe 30-40 degrees if that.

SlowandLoud says:

I’m having a hell of a time with this issue on my truck. My knob only uses about 60-70% of the knob sweep before binding up. When I watch the white plastic connector that the cable connects to that runs to the knob it hits the stops on both sides. I can’t hear the door hitting either side either. Your video helped me a little. Thank you! There is hardly any information on these cable operated systems.

Mark Guerra says:

Thank you !
