does this work on a gas second gen or just a diesel?
something tell me that it could easily start soaking rain and start smelling like shit.
So, you’re not replacing an old filter I take it. Doesn’t the filter get wet when it rains?

I'd consider that you have an exhaust leak somewhere under the hood if you're smelling diesel that much inside your truck. You should be able to easily find this by covering your exhaust tip while the truck is idling and then listening for the leak under the hood.
I just bought a 99 2500 5.9 24v and was wondering if it had a cabin filter. What I get from this video is this is just a add on filter. However I dont see the need for this because I never smell any diesel fumes at all. Guess I'm lucky in that regard.
Does the 5.9 ram have a cab air filter. Ive got a 97 gas 5.9
Does the hood contact it when it’s shut? Won’t it wear the paint?

A cheaper option is to wrap the vent under cowl with the filters homes use from a hardware store
