Thanks for the F-bomb while me and my kids are watching this trying to
learn something.

Mark Carranza says:

What the hell are snap ring players? And what’s a chizzle?

DAMN YOU…..PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM

DAMN YOU ALL TO HE’LL !

Jarrod Douglas says:

A lot of people that have problems with ball joint don’t grind or chizzle
off the flange and or don’t have a impact or snap ring players

Jarrod Douglas says:

Could ha just hit the top of the ball joint with a hammer and pressed it
back in faster I didn’t have to cut mine at all have the same truck .

gopes23 says:

If you work in a shop setting the snap on ball joint press is second to
none, all piece clip together, whereas other ball joint kits your fumbling
around trying to hold the pieces together. But you pay to play, this kit is
around 700

You made it look so easy. 🙂 You Rock!!!

Well, I’m assuming that he’s not going to be using that cheap shit Harbor
Freight tools for doing ball joints. Several years ago, when I worked at a
construction company taking care of their fleet vehicles, the hill-billy
shop Forman would go to HF and get tools. Doing ball joints on a 2006 F-350
bent the ball joint press he bought there, and bent the 3 other
replacements he had to go get. And the aluminum racing jack….? Wouldn’t
even get the back tires off the ground. So my pricing is right.

GoatDriver Ram says:

Thanks for the vid. Very helpful. It would have been useful if you would
have shown the lower tool piece stack.

JUDGERAMBO says:

for snap on tools, prices you mentioned times three. they are pricey

levithan9 says:

That’ depends. Do you have a ball joint press? Do you have a jack and jack
stands? Do you have a cordless impact? That right there is about $1,500.
It’s defiantly something you can do without a lift, as I’ve done many at my
house. Is this for you, or for a customer/friend? Ball joints are a bitch
without the proper tools, and you don’t want to be using a 5 lb sledge
hammer to remove them. But all in all, yes, you can do it without a shop.
And ball joints are easy money.

I am a Truth Speaker. When I tell my wife I love, bitch knows I mean
business.

Mark Carranza says:

Midas has shitty employees who have shitty tools. I worked at a Midas a
while back, and they didn’t even have a scan tool to read codes. You want a
$79.99 brake fluid flush? All we did was suck out the old fluid, and put in
new fluid. Why? Because they didn’t have a brake flush machine. So yeah,
I’m sure their ball joint press is a jack stand and a sledge hammer.

Bill Riley says:

midas told me 4 hours labor to replace both lower ball joints on my
dodge….. you just did one in 12 minutes, while explaining what your
doing…. Im guessing they dont have the right tools for this job

Lara Smiley says:

Thanks for this video! My husband passed away from cancer at 45 recently.
He was a Marine and an Auto Tech for 25 years. He Loved his Dodge!! I just
recently went to the dealership for rotate & balance and they told me I
needed Upper control arm and lower ball joints quoting me $1300! Ouch! At
least I have all his wonderful Snap On and Matco tools to get someone to
help me with this. I’d rather pay a mechanic friend than to give it to the
dealership. Enough left over for Beer & BBQ…Bonus!

SteelArchGuy says:

A little off on your tool cost total there… Ball joint press $100-$200
Floor jack $75-$150 Jack stands $50-$100 Cordless impact $150-$300 So the
range total is $375-$750

hemimanram says:

He speaks the truth.

andrew STEWART says:

as a college student living on campus would this be something i could do or
do i need a shop?
