Oh … I paid $115 for the “Dorman” assembly+motor @ “Car Quest” auto parts ’cause I needed to fix it fast , but the cheapest (not always the best) on-line was about $50 + s/h ! On Amazon : Dorman = $ 63 + s/h .
And …. when you’ll be goin’ crazy when missing screws….check on the speaker’s magnet !!! LOL

MrCiammurro says:

I used HEAVY-DUTY SUCTION-CUP(s) against bottom to hold window up , even for driving until fixed ! Especially when having window deflectors like I do , plus … no duct-tape glue residue clean-up ! Other than that , GREAT HELP brother ! Long but necessarely detailed video with step-by-step instructions ! THANKS A LOT !
Love my ’01 (red!) Dakota and keepin’ it runnin’ ! Age due fixes still MUCH cheaper than a payment for a new (and super technological/disposable) one ! CIAO

This video was a great help. Thanks allot. With your help I was able to get the job done for $50. Just Awesome

This video was really great, but there is only one thing that I had problems with. That was the part where you pull the red security tab down, was fine. But when you say push down, you don’t say or show what to push down. We had a heck of a time seeing and figuring out what you push down. Finally figured it out and SUCESS… Thanks

Thanks for posting this. I’m about to replace my regulator, and this has taken a lot of the guess work out of it.

The drivers side front power window on my 2002 Dodge Dakota broke last night, and this afternoon I was able to replace the motor and assembly in about an hour by following your video. I am not a car guy at all, so the fact that even I was able to follow your instructions shows how great your video is. Thank you so much for posting this! This saved me time and money.

I would also like to say thanks for the video.Mine was a little more difficult but without the video it would been tough going.I had to reach up inside to unbolt the window. Thanks again…

Awesome, thank you for the comment! I am glad the video helped!!

Thanks for taking the time to film this. After watching you do this, it’s not nearly as difficult as I would have thought. I’m like you, all I need is to see something done and then I can do it myself. And thanks for saving me the money I would have paid to have it done!

TheTexasCoder says:

Thank you for this comment! This is the main reason I started recording my repairs. I could not find anything on YouTube. The silicone spray is just NAPA’s brand of silicon spray, nothing special. The assembly will already be greased, but you can lubricate your window tracks (where the glass slides up and down) with 3M silicon paste. If you cant find 3M silicone paste, you can use Dialectic grease, they are the same thing Silicone/Dialectic paste can be used to water proof connectors

TheTexasCoder says:

Great request! I will try and get a video of my garage soon, right now I have a couple of things I am fixing on my Dakota…one of them being the pesky P1196 DTC message. When I finish my current repairs and videos, I will get a video of my garage for you. It’s nothing fancy, just a SMALL two car garage that barely fits my wife’s car…my poor Dakota spends its life outside, until I pull him in to get some work done 🙂

TheTexasCoder says:

Thank you for the kind words! I am glad the videos help, I started making them after searching YouTube and not finding anything. Sometimes I just need to watch someone else do the job before I have the confidence to tackle it myself. Thanks again for watching and for the comment!

TheTexasCoder says:

Nope, you are right, I watched it again, and thought…did I not realize the power was unplugged? 🙂 It was cold and late…and I did not bring my “A” game. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

Lorddarthvader1701 says:

Maybe I missed something but when you went to actuate the window down as far as possible you were clicking the switch you had the motor unplugged.
