this is what I did , I used the ends that came with my speakers and plugged
them into the speakers and then cut the wires too length, hooked up the
Molex plug. and plugged in to factory wires. just an idea for someone.
or you could just use the proper Metra Dodge/Chrysler speaker mounting
brackets 82-6600 i think….
Thanks for taking the time to help the rest of us! I am hoping this will be
the same for the 2005 model. It’s a shame people feel the need to leave
negative comments, what do those people do to help others? I’m guessing
they don’t do much! It’s easy to sit back and talk crap!
awesome. what size speaker did u use
Just did this yesterday on my 2001 Dakota! Thank you so much for your
detailed video. It helped out a lot!
@xzach99x That is awesome, I love to hear when folks work on their own
vehicles! Thanks for watching and the comment, I am glad the video helped!
@JustGuitarcrazy No problem, here they are: Left Front: Light Green/Violet
(+), Light Green/Dark Green (-) Right Front: Light Blue/Violet (+), Light
Blue/Black (-) Left Rear: White/Red (+), White/Black (-) Right Rear:
Tan/Violet (+), Tan/Black (-)
u dont say!? can i just leave the door panel on while i do it?
What about an 99 ext cab ..what colors
Big Thanks for this again. Put 4 new JVC’s in my Dakota last week… In a
snow storm at that… It was that simple. Also I did the extra wire
soldering to keep the factory hookup connector. I was going to drill holes
into my doors originally until I saw you can use the factory mounts so yea
for that.
Hi there, thanks for the comment and for watching! The wiring diagram is in
the videos description, youtube makes you click the down arrow to view the
full comment, but incase it isnt working here you go: Left Front: Light
Green/Violet (+), Light Green/Dark Green (-) Right Front: Light
Blue/Violet (+), Light Blue/Black (-) Left Rear: White/Red (+), White/Black
(-) Right Rear: Tan/Violet (+), Tan/Black (-)
could i have the wiring diagram for the speakers i also have a quad cab
2001 , your help has been used more than once . thank you
@xzach99x haha i blew my left front speaker as well… I was coming to ask
what size the speaker was
I just bought the sony xplod XS-R1644 for my sisters nissan sentra i will
upload a video on dec.27 rhank for the video now i know what they sound like
@690leonard Thanks for watching and for the comment! I am glad the video
helped. That is one reason I started filming myself, I could never find it
on youtube. If you have any questions, feel free to message me and I will
help the best I can. Have fun!
i have a 98 dodge durango, same wiring, same mounts, i even put the same
speakers in. it took me a total of 45 minutes, the amount of time you used
to put in one speaker, you did do a nice job, but.. i ALSO put in
subwoofers in the back and ran all of the wiring. you did not need to do
all of that work, sure it makes it look pretty, but that is not what you
are supposed to do with aftermarket speakers. soon, if you beat on the
speakers, they will blow because you used the original plug-ins.
@xzach99x For some reason my front left has blown twice, Im not going with
infinity any more but is weird that that is the one that always goes first.
interested in color codes for speakers in 2001 quad cab
Cassette2Go youutube channel check out his installation of His 2001 QC when
he upload’s his installation video’s , they are still in the laptop ..
i have a 2000 what size speakers are those you have in yours ?
very helpful video. thank you.
@Daniel95838 Thank you for the kind comment! I am glad the video helped! I
plan on adding an after market amp somewhere down there road, but if you
get a chance takes some video of your install I would love to see it!
Definitely prefer to keep connectors rather than cutting them off too.
If it were me, I’d have done the same soldering, but used the clips to the
speaker, basically making a little adapter harness.
Started out to be a good video, then it started to drag, and d r a g, and d
r a g , until I nearly pulled my hair out waiting for you to solder those
two measly connections…. 30 minutes later, hooray !, they’re finally
finished.. My God , man, please edit any future videos that you make. I
appreciate what you’ve done, but don’t know what meds you were on to move
and talk that slowly…45 minutes should have been 10 at the most. Thank
you.
That was a great way to retain the factory plug in case you ever want to go
back to stock. Great video man
PS… In case you’re wondering they are 6.5 inch speakers front and rear.
Do u have a video to change the rear speakers?
Best tutorial i have found on the internet for this, thanks so much man!!!!
thanks for the video my dad blew his speaker in the left front and he
needed to know which was positive and which was negative and this video
help alot
would make wayyy more sense to just cut the clip off from the door and
solder the wires that came with the speaker, wont be long before that xplod
blows up and you have to redo all that use less work. guaranteed every
speaker you use after will be the same clips at the xplods do. waist of an
hour of your life man.
