does this go the same way with a 2000 stratus? also, it took me about 10
minutes to FIND the battery.
Thanks for the comment, do you mean inside of the relay box or the solenoid
attached to the starter?
I didn’t pay attention to it. I just solved the starting problem.
solenoid
Thanks dude, I thought I would have to take off the air intake manifold. My
problem is the relay sticks and blows the fuse. I hope to repair the relay.
I believe so, after googling some images of that year model 2.4L if that is
correct, once you remove the air intake assembly, you should have enough
clearance to reach the starter with extensions. yes, the battery location
can be deceiving, but when in doubt, consult the owner’s manual or the
internet such as this video or others.
How did u get the fastners to comeout on the panel to get to the battery?
very poor video job. very hard to follow because you can’t HOLD THE CAMERA
STILL!!!!! also you’re too close you should have zoomed out.
You taped to close, get a friend to tape for you. It may not look so
armature. do the easiest thing first, charge and test battery before doing
anything with starter.
@rashiss thanks for the input, and I was skeptical about posting this
video, but did it anyway. I like your comment about charging and testing
the battery first, and I did mention that in the description, but
unfortunately the video does not give that impression. At the time, I just
decided to remove both battery and starter, in the event that it might be
the starter, or both.
Is that a 01 sedan cause that engine looks like a lil piece of crap
compared to my 01 r/t coupe….
Good job! Good at explaining things too. Looks like you got some practice
at changing out the starter anyway in case it fails in the future.
I know, it could have been a much better recording, but thanks for the
suggestion.
@gmaltz ha ha, thanks for the comment! Compared to other vehicles, this
starter is actually not bad at all, could be removed by an inexperienced
individual is less than 30 minutes in my opinion or so. The point I am
trying to make in the video is that starting problems are not always caused
by a faulty starter. Thanks again for the comment.
@oldhag21 it’s been a while since I did this job, either the fasteners can
be pried out with a thin flat head screwdriver in which case a door panel
removal tool may work better, or you if there is a center part of the rivet
to pry up, then you would lift that out first, then the rivet should be
able to be removed from the hole.
