We got our hands on one of these engines and overhauled it with all our favorite upgrades engineered to improve reliability and longevity. Any of these upgrades would be smart choices for your vehicle, or you can install all of them like we did to take your Pentastar to the next level.

I like that they're actually working on the parts actively, as the lineup has been getting better.

And then after all that, the cam followers still fail, wipe out the cam and send metal all throughout the engine!

I'm considering a 2017 Durango with 3.6 and it seems pretty good.

Terrible engine in raw form.
I just replaced a 2020 pentastar with 60k miles.
It lost a head gasket and broke a rod on cylinder #3.
The head gasket sealant surface had turned to powder and failed causing a running hydro-lock at idle.

Absolutely amazing that these engines made it out into the population.

Every 3.6 l or 3.2 L pentastar that comes through my door almost always needs the doorman engine oil cooler. I don't even offer customers the OEM replacement option!

Just buy Japanese

Redesign the valve cover so it drip drains oil onto the rockers and cams using pointed ridges or something pointy. And relocate the PCV valve to the top of the valve cover plz.

I like the exhaust manifold upgrade there. That looks perfect for my exhaust manifold project.

I have a question for Dorman I understand that the plastic is an issue and that it does leak overtime and the Dorman made one out of aluminum have they done any studies about heat transfer from the engine block to the cooler itself because now the lower half of the housing is metal transferring heat rendering the cooler useless I’m thinking about getting one of these, but this is a concern of mine

Is there the cooling plate and thermostat housing for the 2017+ grand caravan yet?

@whitedevil5.039 says:

Or just don't buy a Chrysler/dodge product
