My AC/heat only worked on 2-5 for since i bought it, 3 months ago. Two
weeks ago it started to make a loud squealing noise for a little when i
turned it on. Two days ago the AC/heaat stopped working completely. I don’t
know what it is.

Hello Brian thanks to guys like you we can fix our own cars, going through
a accord powersteering pressure line replacment now. Your rack video helps
a lot. I recently bought a 2001 durango for my daughter and the resistor is
bad and the plug melted. I assume its the connector being loose or the
motor going bad and drawing current too much current. I was thinking of
soldering wire direct to the resistor and saving money on a new plug, I
don’t know what gauge wire to use? The resistor also is only attached with
one screw because of cheap plastic screw hole, do you think red RTV would
hold and seal the resistor in along with the other good attach screw? You
are spot on with crap being sold now days. Keep it up brother! Thanx

My heater motor only works on setting 4 but it barely moves any air,
nothing happens on 1-3. I replaced the resistor but nothing changed. I have
to wonder if it isn’t the motor itself.

RALPH REED says:

Your cool! And smart! Videos always accurate!

Kingsevends says:

My heater only works 1-3 not 4, should I replace resistor ?

Michael Sackstein says:

Check out this video on YouTube:

tyler lewis says:

Probably a short somewhere in your circuit that keeps blowing your blower
motor resistor

briansmobile1 says:

Make sure the radiator is full of antifreeze and check your heater control
valve linkage. The heater control valve is located inline the heater hose.

Francisco Paco says:

thanks Brian, good videos, clear n easy to understand. you help more than
what u imagine

briansmobile1 says:

LOL The government won’t let them die. It’s like a bad science fiction
story.

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome!

briansmobile1 says:

You’re welcome man. Thanks for watching it!

briansmobile1 says:

Verify it’s the correct part and if so trim whatever is needed as needed.

Jon Barker says:

You also won the resistor sweepstakes Mr. Brian. I’ll keep the $15.00 used
blower motor that the price gauging GM company charges $175.86 bucks for.
In case the other breaks. I noticed with the newer resistor and connector
for some reason my 02 bank 1 sensor 1 is fluctuating better during the live
data on my scanner.

ss7331 says:

thanks for the fix. ditto on the dismantling.

Firstyiyp Lastygu says:

ihave a grand prix 2000 and it has da same problem, i’ve replaced the blow
motor resistor but it only works high. do you have any idea of wat could be
the problem????

Empyrean17 says:

Thanks for the reply. I’ve had 3 things come up all of a sudden. The small
window on driver side won’t go up, a/c/heat only works on max and only vent
that is operational is defrost… All at around 50k miles. Thinking I won’t
be going Chrysler next time.

Ken Fujii says:

Brilliant video, thank you. I hate those stupid red tabs too! Much
appreciated.

Art Stanton says:

Fixing my ’03 Chrysler Sebring with this information, thanks! Different
problem, but I suspect this part is the issue. The fan just cuts off
sometimes, then turns itself back on a couple minutes later intermittently.

briansmobile1 says:

I can do better than that- I put a link right in the description!

wire54321 says:

my friends Toyota truck is doing the same thing. is it the same part name?

briansmobile1 says:

Yes, either that or the switch.

liz lepsch says:

thank you! but also, my vents dont work on the face… only on feet and
defrost…. any ideas as to why that is? think i need to replace the dials
themselves?

Javi silguero says:

Cool thanks

JSLSC5 says:

Thanks for the video. I will be able to fix my wifes car and she will now
be warm.

262metal says:

i was about to say something about the fuel injectors on the 2001 dodge ram
that i have, when you commented on them. those plugs or retention things
are brutal! i think the oxygen sensors you helped me with also have crazee
dealios that drove me insane as i was looking up and stretching my arm
backwards trying to unlatch them. lol.

capitanazoish says:

non related question. how much do u think i should pay for a gmc sonoma sls
with 200K plus miles rebuilt head dont know if it was rebuilt because of
over heat. he want 1800 dollars is that a fair price or should i pay less?
thank you

matthew kinnealey says:

Thanks man. This was a very helpful video.

Matt Overstreet says:

My blower on my 2001 Dodge Ram only works on high as well, but it’s also
squalling. I guess the motor and resistor need to be replaced?

wadeh12 says:

Anyway you can give me the part number for the resistor you used?

Vincent Alleman says:

i need directions to ft irwin range control

Brown1286 says:

Thanks alot for this video. My moms Jeep Cherokee has this problem and this
has given me a good overview of what to expect and I will try the repair
myself based on this video.

mvwilson9 says:

all the functions, i recently had the rug changed so the installer asked me
to be sure all the bolts weren’t frozen, the seat function clips have a
left to right push Did you ever see that movie ‘fail safe’ with henry fonda
