It is easy to except when the intake manifold side is so pitted that there is not a good mating surface. I discovered this on an 06 Grand Caravan. Not sure what to do besides replace the entire lower manifold. The thermostat port is pitted as if it was eroded away. Hard to explain.

NIce job and I am glad you had the problems and addressed them very well for us novices. Keep up the good work and I will keep you in mind if I need other fixes for my Dodge Grand Caravan (which for other viewers) is the same as your Town & Country and Plymouth Grand Voyager as well. Happy fixing !

I had the same problem with the tabs on the housing on my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. Can't believe something they would do something so idiotic. A classic case of a car company wanting to make production quotas, make the sale, and then to hell with the owner.
