This video provides useful detail on replacing the alternator in a 2003 Chrysler Sebring with a 2.7L engine. Other Chrysler products utilizing this engine include the 300, Concorde, Intrepid, Stratus, Magnum, Charger, Avenger and more. The engine was used on various models from 1998-2010.
Do girls fart?
I had the same issue but when I replaced my alternator the battery light still came back on and battery is not getting any charge. What should I check next?
Is the Concorde 2.7 the same configuration as the Sebring, Intrepid and Stratus?
Im having trouble putting my belt on. Did everything as instructed but it seems like my belt is too short smh
Trick to remove the bottom bolt of the Alternator. Remove the top two bolts and then force the alternator to the right side of the vehicle. The bolt is now exposed and will be able to be removed very easily.
thats a different altenator then on my 2006 chrysler sebring 2.7, the 2 bolts on mine are below and 1 on top, yours shows 2 on the top and 1 on the bottom.
Thanks for the video. I didn't think mine was ever coming out and kept trying. It finally did after I got the wire bundle up out of the way.
This engine is full of bad designs…not just the alternator placement. The water pump is in fact driven by the timing chain and starts leaking into the oil system at about 80K…the Chrysler 2.7 is known for it. You must get the timing chain and water pump replaced (don't go over 80K miles) or it's goodbye engine. It's a lot of work, makes the alternator seem like child's play. Expect about $2,000 total if you have a garage do it.
awesome i was having a bad day trying to find a way to do it lol first time fixing a chrysler sebring lol thanks
i got a new alternator but it doesn't charge the battery,is there a linkable fuse wire located somewhere? sebring 2002 2.7l
thanks
This is probably a dumb question, but is it mandatory to have the car on a ramp or can this repair be all done from the hood? Thanks so much , this video is a huge help. ( I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan 2.7L)
I plan on upgrading the alternator for my 2008 sebring (car audio), could this guide be helpful? Thought I could try it myself but I see most people putting the car on a lift and removing the right wheel…?
