A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. If your vehicle needs a new CV axle, install a quality TRQ axle that is engineered to your vehicle’s specifications. This video shows you how to install one in your 2008-16 Chrysler Town & Country.

Douglas Bollenbach says:

At 2:14 you pulled the axle spacer off of the old CV shaft, but you did not replace it on the new CV shaft. This is an important part of you don't want a small "knock" in the front end. I learned the hard way not knowing one goes there, because the person who changed it last also left it out. Knock ensued…

SingleCab Steve says:

It looks like you forgot to put the inner shim back on before you installed the outer end into the hub. You also forgot to shot putting the tie rod end back on the knuckel and torquing it. Funny since you did mention that in the driver's side video you did. Might want to mention those things. Thanks for the video though!

It's been a few years since my mechanic's days (computers distracted me from the journeyman's ticket). This is a great refresher. Very well done. Straightfoward, to the point, and excellent tips. Thanks guys!

GOAT Master says:

OMG, soooo helpful, the manual says to use a pry bar, I was getting extreamly frustrated, the hammer boinked it right with two taps… YOU ARE AWESOME…

Larry Wilderson says:

I have a 07 with a damaged passenger front end. A-arms broken. CV joint came apart at the knuckle. Fender is gone along with front grill. My question is what else may be damaged that i should look for other than mounts and obvious signs of cracks or breaks to structures ECT

The underside is sooo clean compared to mine 😉

Joshua Lee says:

Thank you for this short and to the point video. Anyone who is mechanically inclined doesn't need every single thing explain and that is what I appreciate about you.

Jeff E says:

Nice job. Just 1 not so minor point. At 3:54 in the video you can see the tie rod still loose. At 4:37, you can see it re-installed but you never showed that part of the process or mentioned doing it.

LazyE says:

Legitimately an excellent video! was taking off the winter tires and noticed a torn CV boot. This video explained it perfectly.
