Hey Martin…My 2002 Dakota (4.7 of course) has a metal tensioner wheel from the factory. In 2003 they changed to a smaller diameter plastic wheel. Both metal and plastic options are available, but i am wondering if you have any insight as to why the factory made the change, and if your experience prefers one over the other…..

Love the 4.7 content Martin. Question : when you start your engine at the end of the video your engine seems to have a rattling noise like my 4.7 does – did you ever find the cause of the noise? I have a video on my site of how mine sounds and its about the same.

Thanks for sharing!!! Definitely helped me get the job done correctly!!!

I found that running the belt around everything and placing it on the water pump pulley workers best over the alternator pulley. Great video though.

Rob94hawk says:

Jeez that's a clean engine bay! I would have to pull the engine in my 2000 Durango and rebuild it from scratch for it to look that good again.

Hello Martin. I have a 4.0 grand from2001. My aircon compressor is broke and it broke my serpetine belt. Can i use a shorter belt that goes around the aircon comp. is that availeble ? On the sticker under the hood it should be possible! But i thought lets ask Martin :).

Hey Martin, good video. I have a question regarding my transmission. I get the po700 code. Everything i found says its my transmission solinoid. My issue is i cannot figure out what tranny i have. The tranny label says RFE but no 45 or 545 before it. I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7. Any suggestions?

Yankee91 says:

Question. Ever since I did the injector swap on my 4.7. I'm getting a p0175,p0420,p0430. I also installed a ram air down into the lower fender. Truck runs good but will hickup slightly randomly when under heavier load.

Love your videos, Martin!!! I wish you could do all the same mods that you’ve done on your Jeep and do them to mine. I have an 03 4.7 HO as well.

Btw, what belt (part number too) did you go with. I need to replace my belt so this was perfect timing!!!

Thank you, sir!
