OK. Great instruction for the Driver Side slider, however I tried the same thing on the Passenger side and there is absolutely NO screw hole for my T10 screwdriver to access the mounting screw. I ended up cutting a flap in the metal with my Dremel and peeled it back to access the screw. After that, no problem, just like Driver side slider.

You may want to see if there’s power to the door lock actuator on the door that is giving you trouble. If there is power to it, the actuator may be bad. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 Hope this helps you out.

The passenger side door will not unlock ,so I have reach in from the drivers side to unlock I am able to automatically open the sliding door , only when I manually pull up to unlock ..So is this my problem, this little gadget you took out? I thought it was my battery for my key I did change batteries… guess not…

Greg Taylor says:

Just finished doing the repair. Took me 11 minutes from the time I started looking for the tools to putting them away. Doesn’t get any easier, and saved over $250 from my dealers quote.

1aauto says:

it sounds as if the actual latch is the issue there and not an actuator. The actuators only function is to operate when the unlock is pressed.

coletonman says:

Great Video. My driver side sliding door will only pop open a bit but it won’t unlatch, not even manually, would this be the actuator? After a while if I push it to close the door will close itself tightly. Thanks.

This video will show you how to make the repair. We carry the new part on our website too. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393 FREE SHIPPING in the lower 48 states!!!

Greg Taylor says:

I just got a quote from my dealer for $300. What a rip off.

Brian Irving says:

I had that happen. A wire in the door track was broken (i.e., a wire within the wire bundle that has to fold up each time the door opens). Soldering it back together solved the problem. There’s a Youtube video how to take apart that wire bundle (it’s easy).

1aauto says:

That sounds more like there might be an issue with the alignment of the door since it is not closing all the way,

jmerr59944 says:

hi, my driver side door closes 90% of the way and then stops…is this an issue with the actuator?

1aauto says:

It could be, or might also be an issue with the latch assembly. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Bill Hoerner says:

I have a 2009 Towm and Country. The sliding door on drivers side will not open. It will not close tightly. The window will not work either. Actuator?
Thanks.

Mike johnson says:

I think the dodge dealer absolutely took advantage of me to do this job for me, it cost $200. The actuator was $132 itself then about an hour labor. I should show them this video and demand some money back. Now that the other door lock is not working I won’t be going back there. Unreal.

I just bought this part for my 2006 Caravan, the passenger side door is not locking. Arrived one day before I thought it was going to, very good speed.

1aauto says:

You may have to remove the door panel to see if anything is broke, or jammed which could be preventing it from opening. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

How can I get the passenger door unlocked it seams like the actuator is holding the lock down. 2005 dodge caravan.

Jayant Marathe says:

Thanks for your excellent video tutorial!
I needed actuators for both sliding doors on my 01 Caravan. Did the driver side first by trial and error, wasted 8 hours removing all hardware, extracting a stripped lock screw, finding the replacement – unnecessarily removing entire hardware and-putting it back! If only I had watched your You Tube video first, I could have done the whole thing in 15 minutes! I will be doing the actuator on the other door your way.
You are doing a great service! Thanks!

Lyndhurst Bodden says:

Excellent video. Enabled me to change my power sliding door lock actuator in about 15 minutes and probably saved me about $50-$75.00 in installation costs.

scanclan says:

Three York screws by children’s safety lock worked great. After removed look for t15 torque screw. Thanks for good info.

Chuck Wagner says:

Thanks for the great video! I’m looking forward to replacing my messed up actuators on my Caravan Sport!

Ray Wilkins says:

Everything is as you described on my 2007 Grand Caravan, except there is no screw that lines up with the hole in the door. So I cannot figure out how to get the actuator off.

1aauto says:

It may be tricky to do, you could try working your way from the top of the door down to see if it’s easier to remove the door panel that way. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
