I have an 08 charger r/t. I simply disconnected the cord from the latch and connected it to about 8’ of welding wire. From there, I pulled the cord off the 3 locating clips. Then inside the car, I removed the handle as shown and pulled the entire cord through the firewall. Disconnect the old cord and put the new one on the wire that was also pulled through. Then pull from the engine side to have the new cable follow the path of the old one.

This avoids having to remove the bumper, wheel well, and wheel.
