How to u take the harmonic puller/balance off. trying to pull it off. but
it wont come off

IBANEZDADDY says:

I have a 2003 intrepid, I believe needs a timing chain, when it stopped
running loss of engine power. Then try to start it it had no compression,
crankshaft spun freely. Any suggestions

RandallFlaggNY says:

That’s affirmative.

BlindMansRevenge2002 says:

Your motor is gone. If the chain went while the car was running and you
tried to start it or do a compression test and the crank freewheeled than
the pistons contacted the valves and destroyed them. New motor required or
junk the car. The timing set on a 2.7 v6 chrysler needs to be changed at
105,000 before it breaks otherwise the engine is toast. I did my GF’s at
131 when the water pump quit. The tech told me I did not need it but, I
told him to do it and the guides as well pluss the tensioner

phigo4kins says:

@TheKylerrutz I have the same problem with My 2.7L Intrepid. I’m still
tryna figure out what It could be..

ASSUME CONTROL says:

Can anyone help? My 2002 stratus SE 2.7 has been a great car and a great
running engine.Noticed stumbling, and the scanner says #4 misfire.I
replaced all spark plugs(champion platinum).runs smoother, but still
hesitating.scanner today still says #4 misfire.Coil pack? other minor
culprit causeing this?. 144,000 and very clean engine with no mising or
cracked/warn vacuum hoses etc..

phigo4kins says:

I’m a RoOKiE!! & I’m tryna work on My 2.7L Intrepid, had a Knock, Instead
of Junking it. I Wish I had a Garage Like Yours where I can lift it up and
really have some space to work on it. So Far My Lil Hand Tools is not doing
Me any good, givin Me a hella hard time to unscrew any nut in this Motor
cos Its No Space for My Big Hands to Fit through. I’m gonna have to Buy a
Power Tool and Some more Sets. Plus I’m gonna Need A Lot Of Help/Guidiance
As I barely knw anything or any part Name in there.

phigo4kins says:

@jeffman454ss I have a 2001 intrepid too, Mine is 2.7L, What Size is Yours?
I really could use any kinda help/guidiance.

jeffman454ss says:

I have a 2001 Intrepid Im going to do a whole engine rebuild on. If this
one works I guess Ill buy another one and do it too. Just for fun and to
make some extra cash. Great video sounds professional except for using
words like fuck and shit.. Or who the fuck is texting now? Then all your
buddys start saying it wasnt me. I have to say I roled laughing. Good job
though.

Alex Hensen says:

Have fun taking that rear bank cover off, man that was fun.

MrBeatahalic says:

swap the 2.7 with the 3.5 done nuff said

Timothy Phelan says:

hey man , how did the coolen get into the engine oil?

RandallFlaggNY says:

Get the phone!

Jesse Marrin says:

@toyota4life94 drive belt will squeel constantly if waterpump is seizing up
waterpump may leak or the engine will run hotter than norma if it is bad…
the belt will need replacing if it has been sqeeling for quite some time…
check the tread on the belt for cracks low tread…. or threads showing and
check the edges for wear… if your not sure got to junk yard pay $5 for
cheap belt and replace…if it still makes noise….replace waterpump.

smitzchas says:

I really like the video… Good Job!!! I work on 2.7 Chrysler engines
everyday. Anyone reading this should pull the engine from the car and put
it on a stand. Always check the rod bearings and replace them no matter how
they look. Alway clean out the oil pump.. You can use the same one but
clean it. Check the timing components and do your self a favor and watch
the Chrysler Mastertech video called “Introduction to the Chrysler 2.7
engine. He shows you how to set timing Perfectly.

Bondo says:

starting at 3:05. There are 2 studs in the center of the valve cover. Near
the spark plug tubes. I’m leaking from there WTF! Theres no gasket, no
spark tube plug o-ring for that. What should I do?

stingray300m says:

now why would thay put the water pump inside the engine so that when it
leaks it takes the enigine with it when the water pump fails it leaks
coolent inside the enigine mixing with the oil puts slack in the tentioner
and skips a few teeth and the piston hits the valves what a crap enigine

BlindMansRevenge2002 says:

That motor was neglected wasn’t it! My GF has an 04 strat 2.7 with 132K
miles. Water pump quit at 131 after only 2 months of ownership. Go figure!
Took it to dodge and had them do pump, Tstat, chain, guides, and tentioner.
Regreting not having them do the oil pump but repair was closing in on
1900. Tech told me that there was no sludge and no mixing maybe I got
lucky. No oil light plus running Castrol full synthetic to help pump no
blow back either. How am I doing?

t-bird shane says:

had same problem with my dodge durango 4.7, crapy crapy crapy, fills the
engine with metal chips, now the same problem on a magnum 2.7

cooskatekid3 says:

not to be mean but u should of took the engine out but other then that this
help me i had to do the same thin and the only diffrence is i took the
engine out

Kyler Rutz says:

I have a 2000 Intrepid and it’s making the diesel type noise that i’ve read
that it seems to be either the timing chain tensioner or oil lifters…what
could it be? Oil light isnt on..its full but im not sure exactly what it
could be?

lawnside82 says:

It looks like that motor would be easer to work on if it was out the car..
It looks like a pain in the ass

John Hautaluoma says:

Thanks for the details. You are doing us Seabring backyard mechanics a
great service. However the details are scaring the shit out of me!

stingray300m says:

the stupid water pump is inside the enigine where it is driven by the
timeing chain when it leaks the coolent mixes with the oil and takes the
whole enigine with it the 2.7 is a interferance engine meaning the piston
can hit the valves when the timeing chain/belt breaks

lauderdalechad says:

great video! my girlfriends tensioner just took a crap and the chain is
slapping around in the cover (the car is not being driven and no other
damage has been done to it). what is the easiest way to get at the
tensioner to replace it? and how much of a pain is it to just replace the
tensioner alone?….just need it quiet so we can go trade the p.o.s in on
somethin better

Jesse Marrin says:

@cooskatekid3 totally agreed…i am working on another sebring right now
that has a bad headgasket or waterpump not sure yet but i am removing the
engine to work on this time….

love41day says:

is that snow i see on the ground ? Hate working on cars when its cold
outside

Jesse Marrin says:

@Vuko2009 definately not an easy engine to work on…try doing valve
seals…that took forever….no room and a shitty tool i had to borrow from
chrysler……. took 5 hours to do valve seals…and 5 mins on a chevy 2.2
figure that out….

x99j says:

great video, check out rgssr youtube sight. he is a 2.7l fan and expert.
lots of good vids! mike
