Dude! Two words, jack stands.
I seen one completely blown up all because the previous owner avoided a problem with a transmission problem and the fix was easy at the time,a $20.00 speed sensor and later on replacing the computer.Get rid of the long life shit and pour in green, this is one fix for the 2.7.
The block isn’t cracked, there IS a little hole that drips water when the water pump goes bad…your right.
my 02 sebring has 252003km (156588 miles) and just now starting to knock. not bad if you ask me.
how reliable is the 2.4? better than the 2.7 (an all too easy feat)
how to fix a 2.7: pull it out and put in a 3.5
i took my chain off before i had set the timing marks, how can i get it timed correctly. I havent moved anything. this is on a 2.7
Wow that’s what my dad I doing to my car
I have a 2002 Sebring convertable
i have read that gmc payed back there lone early too but that s not what happened .
Chrysler wasn’t bailed out in 1980. They received a loan for their K-car plan, and they paid off their loan early since the K-cars were very profitable.
I was Hoping to get a Video on How to Disassemble the Engine.
I’m having a Serious problem taking apart the fuel intake system at the back.
this is why government bail outs screw everything up . chrysler should have been allowed to fail back in 1980 . if you can design an engine people want they should not be in business . anyway good video thanks .
same one in the chrysler sebing
Same one in the chrysler sebring
Do u know where i can get a 2.7L v6 engine for cheap in the US????
if there is water leaking onto the ground from the front passenger side corner of the engine you have a bad waterpump and it *MUST BE REPLACED ASAP* depends on where the leak is on the waterpump you may get oil/water contamination like this car shows if the waterpump gasket is bad however if it is just a shaft seal it will only leak onto the ground. you could get both…but i beliveve you have a waterpump issue
Hey I’m having the same thing but when I drive it water does not go through the oil I cheeked the oil and it’s still very good and when I drive the car does not overheat and the fans still turn on when it gets to a point I’m just not sure what to do some people say it might be the water pump but plz respond I have the exact same car as well but mine is a 2003 Sebring 6 cylinder
THANKS MAN I APPRECIATE IT I THINK ITS OVER MY HEAD THENN IL JUST PAY THE MECHANIC SHOP BUT I APPRECIATE IT
2.4 and 2.7 have differnt marks….google search and it will tell yah.
never looked, never thought to look…that makes me curious now…however the oil coating would be cause by a bad pcv valve
the seal you are referring to is the rear main seal….this seal requires removal of engine and transmission and seperation of the two to gain access to to replace….not an easy job…you will need a hoist and a engine lift to remove engine out the bottom…. do a google search ” chrysler sebring 2.7 engine removal” and there is a list of items in order needed to be removed to get the engine out with ease….it helped me…
man i have this same exact car i really need to fix it for transportation i bought mine broken for an awesome deal as well is there any way you can help me out it has a major oil leak only when i start the car though when the car is off the oil doesent leak i was told it is the rear transmission seal im not sure but do you have any advice for me please let me know
Did look in or clean your intake manifold, did you happen to have an oil coating in there ?
I feel for you doing all this work out in the cold, you’re a trooper. I have done work on a 2001 LXi with the 2.7L V6 Sludge Factory. If I had my way it would have 10 quarts for the engine oil sump. I run full synthetic and change it regularly and I still hear an occasional tap, even though they are hydraulic lifters..and it’s not the fuel injectors clicking no.
nothing but crap those filters……..i bought mobil 1…for my full synthetic oil im now running in this car….
I spy a FRAM oil filter.
Thanks for the posts… My dad is working on his 2003 2.7 and has issues with finding timing marks… Where to look for timing marks? The 2003 has a straight engine I don’t know if would still be the same or not…
revised waterpump and all parts listed in description are now on order
original pump on this car was replaced at 100,000 kms with original design…and now im stuck replacing it again at 205,000kms
fuck you, chrysler = cummings! ………… gotta change the headgasket! 😛
make sure you get the revised water pump, with beefed up shaft, bearing, and seal. there was a re-design. the old design went 80,000 miles, the new design is good for 150,000 miles
