The fluid looks like it is coming out of the part that you are replacing in this clip. (DIY How to replace install thermostat housing 2005 Chrysler Sebring)

replace the leaky hose first.

Jocelinne Muraira says:

My Chrysler just started overheating today. The coolant level looks low and there is some liquid coming out of a hose that connects to the engine. Also, there is a funny smell almost like cake. Does it have something to do with the thermostat or is maybe just a leaky hose?

88bmyvegas says:

look at my other video on the replacing the thermostat. yes, there is another video. this video is for the housing and it is called a thermostat housing. ask the dealership and that is what they will tell you. don’t be so quick to comment. you made yourself look stupid.

88bmyvegas says:

if the housing is leaking coolant. you need to pressure test it. and only way to test the thermostat is to remove it and place it in boiling water to see if it opens, if it is open already before you put in boiling water, it is faulty. You might as well replace it when you remove it since it is fairly cheap. have a nice day and please subscribe.

How do you determine a faulty coolant sensor housing? Or a faulty thermostat?

88bmyvegas says:

don’t seal it back together. it will burst again. i will guarantee it will. you are better off replacing it. please subscribe.

MalikarVampire says:

88bmyvegas says:

Very helpful. I just did mine this morning. The aftermarket part from O’Reilly fits. Got it for $66. Hardest part was wrestling with the radiator hose clip.

THIS IA NOT CORRECT!!!! ….THAT IS ONLY A COOLANT SENSOR HOUSING! THE THERMOSTAT IS ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE 2.7 ENGINE. NEED TO REMOVE THE RIGHT SIDE TIRE. SERPENTINE BELT AND ALTERNATOR BRACKET TO GET TO THE THERMOSTAT. NOTICE HE DIDN’T SHOW HIM ACTUALLY PUTTING IT IN! ILL SAVE YOU THE TIME. I BOUGHT THE BOOK!
