Chrysler 200 (2011-2014) – New Battery Install

Learn how to install a new battery in a Chrysler 200. We’ll show you how to replace/change/remove with simple tips and tricks to help get you started!

Tool List: 13mm wrench, 10mm wrench, 7mm wrench, Push Pin removal tool (https://a.co/d/0WWKXFZ), car jack stand

The 12 volt battery in this 2013 Chrysler 200 is located in the fender well. Although this video may provide you with the basic procedures, we recommend that you check with the vehicle manufacture’s step by step procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle you are working on.

Even if your vehicle did not come with an AGM battery, you can upgrade to an AGM battery for up to 2x the life. AGM can be found at most retail outlets. You can learn more about AGM here: https://www.autobatteries.com/en-us/battery-technology-types/absorbent-glass-mat-agm-battery

The use of a memory saving procedure will keep the memory alive on the vehicle’s computer during the battery replacement procedure. Referring to our Memory Saving video will provide you with various memory saving procedures that can be used according to vehicle manufacturer’s requirements. https://youtu.be/vSP3ShcaFgQ

Some late model vehicles must have the 12 volt battery registered with the vehicle’s Battery Control Module or Computer after replacement. See these videos on Battery registration and coding for more details on the procedures at https://youtu.be/TGKohKZHzr0 & https://youtu.be/cxOK_DczRGg

Always wear safety glasses and gloves when working with or near batteries.

What retarded oompa loopa thought up this fd up placement for the battery? Stupidity. Absurdity. Sheer nonsense. Wouldn’t be surprised if drugs were involved.

Sekou says:

This is what happens when they ask for gender pronouns at orientation for engineers at Chrysler now.

charredskeleton says:

Santa! (I almost misspelled that satan lol).

Mannnn I’ve been putting this replacement off for a while. We’ve just been charging our old battery cause I know this is gonna be a nuisance but it doesn’t look too difficult just tedious. Thanks for this instructional video.

mark30378 says:

Is that socket a 16mm that you used to take off the negative remote cable? You didnt mention that one. But I think I can see a 16 on the video.

Work Kebede says:

If I had known where the battery was located I wouldn't have bought my car. Why Chrysler decided to hide the battery like that is beyond me.

Alex Rebmann says:

Have this car. Can not believe Chrysler designers came up with this. Should have put it in the trunk like the 300. How many Chrysler owner with the 3.6 pentar had to replace cylinder head because of defect?

If there were avid battery thieves out there, chrysler 200’s would be the safest vehicle for this.

Wanda Manske says:

What a crazy place to put battery! My husband is 87 and I’m 76! So if battery dies we have to pay for towing and just to change a battery!

Jonay dogan says:

My battery just went and I called Triple A and they wanted $100.00 to change the battery in that piece of junk 200 ,I bought new in 2012 ! I said you gotta be kidden ? He said if it was in the motor it was free ! Do you believe that! Never again !listen out there I've had nothing but trouble with that piece of junk !Don't buy one used ! Your asking for trouble !The heat don't work the alternator went3 times no recall the breaks oil leaks ! Should I go on that's only half of it !

Jonay dogan says:

Wonderful video ! But I've done this 3 times already ! Its not that simple ! Who ever heard of putting a battery under where the tire is ! They had to jam it somewhere ! Why not in the trunk ? Its ridiculous to put a battery there and have to take off the tire !And is so packed in there and so heavy to pull out ! Its just no that simple !I'm sorry I bought this car new in 2012 ! This car has given me nothing but trouble !he makes it look simple but try it you'll see its not all that simple ! Its packed in there like a can of sardeens !

Jonay dogan says:

Wonderful video !

Oliver Meier says:

Just a safety hint. Remove the ground on the battery first and install it last, even if you think the battery is dead it still has enough to spark if your wrench grounds. I bought one new in sept 2011 with the 4 cyl, excellent carplenty of power and great on fuel,my battery lasted till today and besides tires, wiper blades and brakes ,this will be the first repair in 12 years at 195,000 km. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Mike P says:

Chrysler totally screwed over its customers with this one. What brainchild came up with the idea to put the battery in this location?

S Rosario says:

My fastener to the guard is stuckkkk what can I doooooo it broke 2 of my 13 mms

Sashya2701 says:

Is that a "special" tool used to remove the pins? If so, What is it and where could you get one?

Fluffy Bunny says:

This is such a hilariously bad location for a car battery. Haha.

MrBrian says:
