these engines are a nightmare. they need to be properlu rebuilt. most
people just put the 3.5L LH motor in them

lkostyk1993 says:

Having same issue. No one is willing to even touch it to fix it. They don’t
want to be held responsible if it doesn’t go back on. I got it a month and
a half ago 187k miles.

905speedgta says:

@roobabyroo there are 4 nuts to loosen, once you take them off the pipe
comes down enough to remove the oil pan.. check out all my videos on the
chrysler sebring. If you have any questions let me know

Bob Snake Plissken says:

piece of junk.

Gr33nThumbs says:

All you have to do is remove the two bracket bolts behind the driverside
tire and the stabilizer bar will move just enough to get the oil pan and
brace removed. No need to remove the bar as that is so much more work, just
unbolt the bar from the bracket that is holding it to the frame. Prost!

Travis Ferreira says:

@sideburns2009 Those 41TE Transmissions suck royally. I have a 98 sebring
convert working on its 3rd one. Granted I drive it like I stole it, but as
far as I’m concerned, with these transmissions, its 50-50 on whether or not
they will last. Ive seen some that have gone to 250K tho..

Yasin Ozcelik says:

Why don’t you get a service manual? It will cost you half of the money you
plan to put in this car, about $100 on eBay. The cheapest fix to a Chrsyler
2.7 engine problem is to sell the car, unless you want to use it to learn
something about engines. You are gonna learn all the bits and pieces 🙂

cody gauthier says:

me and my friend having same problem its all unbolted but the side closest
to the transmission wont come off the block its pissing us off lol and that
pipe theres another 2 bolts behind the k-frame

CalebJ77 says:

The transmission is the same as your caravan. The only difference is if you
have the manual shift option.

RainbowCupcake420 says:

my hubby and I both said PFFT when you said put 100-200 into that car. Weve
put over $700 in ours and we think theres somethin goin on with the motor.
Did you ever figure that cross over pipe?? Is that why you couldnt get the
pan off?

roobabyroo says:

i have the same problem that cross over pipe is pissing me off

sideburns2009 says:

if you read my post from earlier in the thread, i told you that the tranny
in this car is a 41TE, it will fit your caravan and as far as I know the
mounts are the same as well.

JpJustSayin says:

Hey this is great, I need to do this same operation on my 2.7 – it’s at
145k and it’s just starting to get a little noisy. I’ve been running
Mobil-1 in it since 50k.
