If anything is bad, replace it. If you have only 1 adjuster, then use 1.
when doing both sides do you need 1 or 2 adjusting sleeves? thanks
I’m not a Wal Mart employee but you can’t really blame Wal-Mart for some
play in your steering components. That play takes years and years of
neglect and wear. Missing one grease point here or there would not be the
“cause”.
Instead of using the picle fork to apply pressure to get it out, could you
use a crow-bar like tool?
Thank you so much for providing an answer to an agonizing problem I had. I
am almost finished replacing the idler arm on my 1987 S10. the tapered bolt
just turned when I tried to tighten it up. I’ll go out and clean it, punch
it up and hopefully will tighten. Thanks again!
I have a 93 Toyota pick-up truck and me and my buddy took off the idler arm
today, but we don’t have a pickle bar to completely take it off. We’re
planning on buying one tomorrow, but I was just wondering how hard it would
be for us to break the nylon bushing. Thanks.

The problem with crowbars and chisel type tools is that it does not apply
equal pressure. The pickle fork will lift evenly on opposite sides and make
it easier. Of course, if you don’t have one and need to make a repair, you
gotta use what you have.

a site that sold parts. Or the local NAPA store should have a good diagram
to see what part is needed.

@jnukes16 I can and do blame Walmart’s dudes and dudets for NOT taking the
time to grease ALL fittings. The vehicle only had about 35-40 thousand
miles one it when I started maintaining it myself. The ONLY neglect and
abuse came from NOT being greased and Walmart was the ONLY place that had
been doing the oil and grease jobs. Not hard to place blame where it
belongs in this case.
I think twice the Wal Mart guys got mocked and accused for being lazy. The
owner was too lazy too.
I do not know if the process is the same, but it should be similar. If the
parts look like the go together like the video, then I would guess that the
process is the same.
I hate Walmart, but, calling them lazy, when you are too lazy to change
your own oil and do your own general maintenance , is kinda odd.

idler arm same as pitmen arm???? my 97 gmc serria need new ball joints and
a pitmen arm they said and they whant to charge me 450$ is that a good
price???
i have a truck similar to this (gmc) do they have inner and outer tie rods?
@pdrober All i Can say is your a worthless POS. .. 1 don’t think Walmart
cares…. it shows. A properly maintained system can last indefinitely.
These front end parts are some of the most Heavy duty components on a
Truck. Walmart will have to prove that all their techs are properly trained
on all vehicles including 4WD trucks and explain all points of lubrication.
Bet you can name and locate all the points of lube on this or another
truck. Your an Ass, loser, untrained, ungrateful wannabe!
