Dang I hate to sound like a troll but this vid is not a how-to. I came on
here looking for some time saving tips and got an edited reality type
experience with no redeeming value. Smh

@valtierra2966 Thanks!

Bedford Heights Auto says:

Tip if you ever need to change a fan clutch again, either 2 ways to get
that off, either the fan clutch tools (2 giant wrenches) or a impact chisel
very gently. Just posted a vid on my channel, check it out lol

TheNina219 says:

u guys didnt have to remove the raidiator or anything else to get to it
right . theres enough space in between the two to just remove it? im gunna
do my boyfriends but i wanna make sure that i dont have to tear it
completely apart just to do that one thing?

EJ says:

The easiest way to remove the fan clutch is using a adjustable wrench and a
hammer, just tap it a couple times and it’ll start coming off. It worked for
me changing the water pump on my 04 Escalade. AS for draining the radiator
just take off the hose at the bottom instead of taking off the plug, which
is easy to brake.

TP says:

How can I tell if the pump is bad? I’ve got a small amount of coolant
leaking in the front of the engine.

mike hutchinson says:

If you leave the serpentine belt on and use an adjustable wrench on the nut
to the fan clutch you can pull it off without a special tool. Go to chevy
avalanche fan club online and you can find out all kind of tricks and tips
to make life easier.

I give you credit for showing the reality of doing a waterpump. Nice video
from the view point of showing the pitfalls and the True American Way!

Drew's Roofing And Home Repair says:

very well could be the o rings in the back of the pump not to pump it self

Turco949 says:

I am not sure if using any kind of adhesive type stuff on the gaskets is a
good practice. Typically those chemicals may hinder the gasket’s
functionality or at least would make it harder to take it off the next
time, and leave a nasty sticky residue.

daddyberist says:

Check out the “Avalanche Sliding Bed Liner” on here for your truck.

Jake Belder says:

No, we left the radiator. There is enough space for you to work between the
radiator and the water pump without any problem. The only thing you will
have to remove is the fan shroud because that definitely blocks your access
to everything. But that’s just a piece of plastic, pretty easy to remove.
Good luck!

Jake Belder says:

@staaberelli Thanks. Yeah, the way they make cars these days, it is getting
harder and harder to do things like this yourself.
