Awesome video. Thanks for posting it. I just got one of these trucks and I
love it. I’m going to have to replace all the speakers too.

rodney gavaldon says:

That helps out a lot on replacing my speakers…i have the same year truck.

Mike Smith says:

I don’t know. Call Crutchfield and ask really nicely, maybe they’ll sell
you the right stuff? Or just return product to Sonic and re-order from
Crutchfield. 😉

nene lindo says:

It is nice that you took the time to record this and post it on here.
thanks… Post more vids of any upgrades/changes you do to your truck if
possible…

Mike Smith says:

Tweeters worked fine. 🙂

Mike Smith says:

@MRchristhebest55 – you really need to be more specific. When you say “they
won’t come out”, why is that exactly? It’s a pretty simple removal, once
you remove the door panels you just remove the screw holding them in and
then pull them out of the holes. You might try posting a picture on
coloradofans website or 355nation if you’re getting hung up on some
specific part of the door.

twistymcslide2 says:

for the same $ you can have pioneer speakers… also , what did you pay @
crutchfield vs going to walmart ??? my oem alpines would sound better. and
ill gladly send them to you ..might have some MBQUART 6×9’s and some focal
6.5’s for you too… i wasnt tryign ot be a dick , i specificly made that
point, shoot me your adrs.

MRchristhebest55 says:

Shane Bloomfield says:

Thanks for posting this, I am planning on doing the same this weekend. How
did the tweeters work after you installed the new speakers? I am guessing
the cross over is in the door somewhere and that they still work after
removing the stock speakers.

Jorge Rivera says:

Good job doing it with one hand lol

cano42aj says:

How much was the whole set?

Trizzy Speex says:

My kicker ds40 didn’t come with the wiring harness or those little metal
pieces… It came with a pack of screws and the speakers, and on the box it
even says a mounting kit and wiring harness are included… Do I need to go
buy a wiring harness and mounting kit or something? I am replacing my front
speakers of my 2005 Chevy Colorado

Gus Arana says:

Nice video bro!!!

jomar cavalcanti says:

Great vid bro.. at least YOU put effort to post a vid.. don’t you just love
ppl that bitch about and never help others. 😉

Mike Smith says:

The answer is right in the title of the video. 😉 Actually replacements
were 6.5″, but holes were large enough to accommodate 6.75″. Not much
available at that size though, so 6.5″ it was!

Mike Smith says:

Hey, they work fine for me, much better than the factory speakers, and they
fit my budget. But if you’d like to go out and buy me a set of $400
speakers, I’d be glad to install them and shoot another video! 😉 *grin*

Jamie Washington says:

Thanks man, I’ve been wanting to know how to replace my front speakers for
the longest time now.

Trizzy Speex says:

Yeah I got it from sonic electronics online.. But it confused me bcus it
said it included that stuff..so I need to get a wiring harness for my ds40s
4in? Where do you think I should go

twistymcslide2 says:

not to be rude to the poster, but people dont buy these speakers. they sell
them @ walmart and are NOT of the quality of older kicker, guess they sold
out to china liek the majority. go pioneer and get your $’s worth if you
want a cheap replacement up to pretty damn top quality . . please.

Mike Smith says:

Did you purchase your speakers from Crutchfield? That’s the company that
included all the additional parts, instructions, etc. (great customer
service!) If you purchased from Walmart or somewhere else you’re not going
to get all the parts shown in my video.
