Messiah Mews says:

Well, we PARTIALLY fixed it. The indicator lights come back on now. However, the speedometer and gas gage still aren't working. The other gage on the top far right works. So now what?

Lenny. says:

My odometer and speedometer don’t work. If they’re separate issues, could something like this be the issue? Could one of the servos that control the dial arm have gone out?

croftpydy croftpydy says:

great video and u kept it simple with explanation. can the odometer be switched out into another cluster to have the same mileage? my odometer needle stops working after a long period of driving. if i turn engine off and restart after 5 mins or so it will work again

hdrjunkie says:

Lol did you remove the needles first then stick them back on to remove them easily for the video? I tried to remove mine and they seemed to be welded on.. I used a fork under them and still they wouldn’t budge…lol

Paul Twietmeyer says:

Hi. I had a problem with the speedometer reading erratically or not at all on my 2003 GMC Sierra. I used your video to take out and repair the cluster by soldering the resisters as you indicated and it seems to have worked just fine. Thank you for saving me at least $600.00 Canadian! You guys are great, keep it up!

Brandon Gomez says:

Thank you! helped me fix my truck

Jdm family says:

Isn't easier to just buy a used instrument cluster?

Jane says:

Would this be the same on a 2002?

My 1997 chevy picky speedo is register double speed. Is this repair the same? Great soldering, you didn't even burn yourself Once!

ssmustang302 says:

the last shot isnt even the same gauge cluster lol The stepper motor on the volt gauge is shot. When he reinstalls the cluster after the repair and has the key on the display he fixed doesnt show up…

Karen Schrein says:

This is a great help. 2005 Yukon and three gauges in cluster died. This helped me remove cluster from a parts 2004 Yukon and install in the 2005. was done in less than hour. shows tools and even how to unplug the the cluster. Will review again if I need to re solder the old one. Takes the fear away. Thanks guys. awesome.

Christopher Jones says:

Thank you! I plan to do this fix over the Thanksgiving break. It was super helpful to see exactly what I need to do!

Steven Rayburn says:

Is the 2002 instrument panel different?

Holger S says:

pretty much each new solder joint was 'dry'…you should have used flux to 'wet' the area and solder and you wold have ended up with a nice clean solder joint!

Syrthdr09 Sybr says:

Nice video guys, thanks!

konfidential1911 says:

No lights or gauges showed up on my dash cluster. I fixed it in about an hour and cost about $25 for the soldering iron. Thanks guys
