Cassidy Knapp says:

it well help more for towing and low end tourqe under 3000rpm’s and might
get some good gas milage

texasbmx246 says:

Lol yeah, I’m worried about this thing because my new cold air intake is
about 1.5 inches from my fan right now, I had to trim the fan shroud to get
the cold air intake to fit.

crazywarriorman says:

@AutoAnything If I put a K&N Cold air intake and this on my engine, will
they both fit?

Guinelle1 says:

i want to get one, but on my 2000 silverado i have a spectre cold air
intake and the tube is already very close to the farn cover/fan so i was
wondering how i could get around that?

pepene93 says:

i honestly dont think people would buy a full size truck for mpg or
performance. besides, throttle body spacers have been proven to do
absolutely nothing.

AutoAnything says:

On most engines, they do add some horsepower, but don’t expect it to be a
major performance booster. After all, it is a ~$120 part. The most
noticeable thing it can do for your engine is improve throttle response.

suppaman12 says:

@89Carfreak if you really want to try it out, go to fleabay(ebay) and buy a
knock off one from there, 40 bucks shipped and it look identical to this,
try it out.. no help whatsoever… want to save gas? make sure your truck
has a fresh tune up, clean injectors and go easy on the throttle. Want more
power? A customized tune will do that for about 300-400 dollars! Dont have
that kinda money to spend?? well guess what jackass, I just saved you 100
by not buying this crap, thats a start!! good luck!

RyanChevy6295 says:

So why get them if they only increase 1 to 2 horse

CSXtrackworker says:

@AutoAnything Again, thanks for the info. I appreciate it!!! I guess I will
just stick to purchaseing the throttlebody spacer from you.

vansglyde21 says:

Hey, I have an 01 Tahoe with a 5.3L in it… I need a new intake system and
want a throttle body… Does Airaid sell theirs as a package? Do you guys?
Thanks!

AutoAnything says:

Yes, a whistling sound will be audible at certain RPMs.

CR7vaporz says:

Only gain u’ll see is gaining a couple of mpgs, does it justify the
expensive price tag? Not really

Fausto Cisneros says:

Hello what would be my gains in a 5.7 liter vortech silverado

rocker4u123 says:

@alore57 dont’ TBI spacers and CAI are wastes of money. seriously google
“do Tbi spacers work” or CAI. you’ll save yourself 300 bucks easy lol.

AutoAnything says:

@Aqrab1 It certainly can, but how much depends on your engine, other
modifications and how you drive. I’d recommend going to our site (there’s a
link directly underneath the video) and read through the product reviews.
Make sure to select your vehicle! 🙂

Brett M. says:

couldn’t tell a difference on my 5.3 silverado, but we had to cut extra
space out of the fan shroud in order for it to fit with the cold air
intake. 100 bucks for a whistle sound…..

sodedit says:

Great How-To Video! I’m curious though, if throttle body spacers improve
both horsepower and mpg’s for less than $150, why aren’t they factory
installed? I’m looking to purchase one for my F150, I just bought a K&N Air
Intake. What would you suggest? Thanks.

buco5622 says:

This is how you inprove mpg; 1. USE PREMIUM FUEL ONLY !!!!! It eliminates
“spark knock”, “bogging”, and poor throttle response. 2. Keep spark plugs,
air filter, and cap/rotor (if equiped) clean. 3. Routine oil changes, use
semi or full synthetic if possible. 4. Always check tire pressure. 5. Row
up the damn window, and turn on the A/C. Driving with the window down
creates a “parachute effect”. 6. Run a can of Sea Foam through the brake
booster vac line, with engine running at 2,000 RPM.

firechicken76 says:

I just installed one of these on my ls1, no noticable increase in
acceleration, it makes a whistling noise…thats about it, its worth maybe
$20. these are seriously overpriced!!! I didnt buy mine, it came attached
to a manifold I bought… So, unless you get it for free, dont waste your
money…

Bobby Bouche says:

60 dollar paper weight!!!!!

AutoAnything says:

@crazywarriorman It depends on what engine and vehicle you have…sometimes
they fit, sometimes they don’t. Let me know what you’ve got and I’ll see if
there is a fitment guide.

csxdjxmax says:

cuz for her is about an hour..

CSXtrackworker says:

@AutoAnything Thanks for getting back to me. I will def look into it now. I
have another question. I saw that you sell the jet power flow mass air
sensor for my truck. Would it make it run too rish if I installed that as
well with the throttle body spacer. I saw some guys said they had no
problems with there silverado’s and some that said they did with the engine
light comeing on?

BOrn2BReakShit says:

@AutoAnything i like it alot

Brett M. says:

About how much mpg and hp should a 04 chevy silverado gain with no other
mods yet? vortec engine

suppaman12 says:

@89Carfreak i pity these people who dont listen! TB spacers are like a
placebo! It only feels like its helping because you “WANT” it to help but
it doesnt! Go to any reputable truck forum, chevy dodge ford, anything and
type in spacer! see what real truck guys have to say about this! Its been
known to REDUCE POWER due to the so called “helix” design that interrupts
the airflow! the only thing this is cool for is that little whistle sound
it makes lol, kinda like a turbo,

Tungsten23 says:

BTW, FAIL @1:02, stay in school guys. Throttle body is what he removed, he
is putting the “throttle body side” towards the engine. This guy is as
bright as a fused light bulb.

AutoAnything says:

It probably won’t be much. Maybe 3-5 HP and ~.5 MPG, depending on your
driving style. But a TBS is fairly inexpensive, compared to an intake,
exhaust or programmer. Bang for the buck, it’s a decent mod, but you might
not notice a power difference with just the TBS. With supporting mods,
it’ll help maximize gains. But you should notice a little more throttle
response.

alore57 says:

i am getting one along with a cold air intake! i want to do this myself but
i have never done anything like it before. is it do-able for a beginner is
basically what im asking?!

Brett M. says:

and we get bout 15mpg right now..

jupitersj says:

lol @ throttle body spacers on efi engines … and companies like this
expect people to trust them when they are just scamming you out of your
hard earned money. Marketing divisions belong in Hell.

StickEsteve says:

I noticed no gasket sealer, is it not needed with the gaskets provided?
thanks,

AutoAnything says:

@crazywarriorman What year is it?

AutoAnything says:

@JRTFrontier Hard to say without seeing it, but it sounds like an issue
with the throttle cable. I would investigate that and make sure it’s been
reinstalled properly, and that there is nothing causing a kink in it. If
that looks ok, you could try adjusting the throttle cable tension.

silverdiaz7 says:

Hey their, i have a 07 tundra and bought the tbs, how do i know if i have
the throttle body spacer the wrong way? ive tried it both ways and i can
hear the whistle either way. i bought the taylor tbs though. And will my
car mess up if its incorrect? Also i have it installed and for some reason
my rpms are in between 1.5-2 wich is abnormal any suggestions? asap please

AutoAnything says:

You should gain around 5 HP & 5 FT-LBs of torque with this throttle body
spacer. Nothing huge, but it’s not bad for the price. It will also help
support other mods you add in the future, like an exhaust or a performance
chip.

Tungsten23 says:

Also, hardly noticed a difference. If anything my Silverado will not go
down into V4 active fuel management mode, and like 1-2% in throttle
response. It’s not worth it, you will only notice the money you lost buying
it. Then again I got mine for free.

Tungsten23 says:

Does AutoAnything carry Volant CAI?

wJacksont says:

TBSs are for more power at the top end, correct?

AutoAnything says:

@silverdiaz7 The engraved side of the Taylor Cable TBS should face the
throttle body. The orientation is important, so make sure it is facing the
correct way. Regarding the high idle… hard to say without seeing it, but
it sounds like the throttle cable may be getting pinched or pulled on,
causing a high idle. I would recommend taking a close look at that, and
then reviewing the install guide to make sure everything is installed
correctly.

CAPRICES4LYFE says:

yeah thought she was being sarcastic at first

AutoAnything says:

@Hazardousturkz Even on Vortec engines, throttle body spacers can offer
improved performance, throttle response and fuel economy. The gains are
more noticeable on modified engines.

AutoAnything says:

@jeepdriver713 We did not need to make any adjustments on our 2009
Silverado, but there are some vehicles that require throttle body cable
adjustment. Included in the box is a vehicle-specific installation guide
from Airaid. If adjustment is required, it will cover this step.

WolfmanPerformance says:

Does this whistle?

AutoAnything says:

It’s a Torx Female Socket.

Gerry Cantral says:

Throttle body spacers work in that they space you from your money. They
have been shown to pick up 1 to 2 hp in rare cases. Often, NOT repeatable.
YOU will not feel 1 to 2 hp. Spend your money on a good programmer & tune.
Next….Tornado air diffusers. LOL
