We need automotive help in the comments! I’ll post the details in a comment, but we worked all day getting this new drivers side door handle installed inside the door frame and getting the rods and cables connected to it but when she puts it in gear the doors lock and the handle quits working, inside and out, seems like the locks aren’t disengaging, help me help her, I’ll keep the comments updated as we figure it out!

2012 Chevy Equinox, door handle and internal locking mechanism. I struggled but eventually got the door opening rod connected, then eventually found the unlocking rod disconnected and fallen down in the door, and got the cable for the inside handle connected although the first time I routed it improperly and the window got hung up when rolling down, but then I got all of it hooked up right and everything worked, but when she puts it in gear the auto lock engages and then the handle quits working, but unlocking with he key doesn’t fix it and the unlock button seems a little glitchy, wonder if it’s not mechanical but an issue with the electric locking system. Any thoughts?
