Just a quick video showing how to replace the front shocks on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2wd work truck. The old rubber shock bushings had worn out and were making a clunking noise on speed bumps etc. These new shocks were inexpensive, but work great.
Tools needed:
14mm wrench (ratching wrench works great)
Large crescent wrench or vise grips
13mm socket and wrench
Torque specs I found online say 18 ft. lbs for the two lower bolts and 15 ft lbs for the top nut.

Lawrence Bury says:

What I would like to get the answer to is do you tighten the top shock nut with the suspension jacked as high as it goes, or letting it go as low as it goes or with tires on? That's 3 different ways you're gonna get 15ft/lbs…or just till the bushing mushrooms

Really great video. Thought I might have to remove front tires but apparently not.

Gabriel Palacios says:

What is the size of the bottom bolts for the shocks I need to replace 2 of them?
