Is it ok to replace the inner tie rod end without removing the outer portion? there doesnt seem to be an issue rotating the joint where it connects at the drag link, so I'm not sure why I would need to take the outer tie rod out at all.

I got the same tie rod ends for my 05 Duramax. I rented the tie rod end tool in order to torque to the proper specs but the boot on the inner tie rod end does not come off because clamp seems to be permanent. Any suggestions? Great videos! Thanks
