Is it necessary to use the rtv gasket maker or would the new gasket be sufficient?

Robert Murwin says:

i suggest doing this job! My Cruze has 150,000 miles. I changed 2 previous pumps myself and when it came time for the 3rd I let the dealer do it because I was busy and felt what the hell how much could it cost. Well for an hours work they charged me $737.62 $400.00 for the labor, $24.00 Misc.,$263.76 parts. What a RIP!

Frank Hinde says:

Those engine mount bolts are stretch bolts so technically you're not supposed to re use them. They should be torqued to spec and then tightened another 60 degrees.. I.e into the plastic deformation phase of the bolt. I probably wouldn't replace them either but your viewers should know those bolts are not "supposed" to be re-used as they are already stretched.

I had no issues replacing the thermostat, coolant reservoir and the water pump thanks to your videos! However, after replacing the water pump today I now have a squeal that sounds like it's coming from the pulley. Everything else works great, but that squeal needs to go! Any idea why it would make that noise now or how I can adjust it? no issue before. Thanks!

Christian Tarver says:

I replaced water pump but now after putting it all back together the fan is on high and won’t go back to normal. Any idea why?

Jake Churchill says:

I took off an engine bolt not paying attention it’s the one at 8:31 on the right side at the bottom there and I’m looking for how much torque it needs

Leaking water pump is still under warranty! 10 years/150k regardless less of owner. Take it to Chevy have them fix it for free and get your complementary rental while they fix it!

Thank you for the super informative video…while I'm not the handiest person, nor have the space (or the space for tools such as jacks) in the city, I like knowing what I'm paying my mechanic for.
