Thanks so much for your video. My dash had several cracks and I was able to salvage it with decent results. Could you please repost the link for plastic epoxy? I'm unable to find a tube any where local and the small two part mix stuff will take too long. .

Gerald Bennett says:

Seems that the risk of collateral damage out weighs this project's upside. Too bad the dash doesn't pop out just as the panels.  Thanks again Chevy.  What could have been a few hundred dollars I'm sure costs over a Thousand.

Luke Nohren says:

How involved is a dash swap; like an SLT to an SLE?

billy johnas says:

where do you work? I would love to get mine done

Mike Adkins says:

What a good job! Thanks so much for posting!

George Bell says:

How long does the apoxy have to sit before reinstall

joe roth says:

Yes, the dashboards are made of cheap plastic. GM did this to reduce weight. Big mistake. But, all this "cracking" can be avoided by simply installing a dash cover. LMC truck sells them for $39.00. I have a 2011 Silverado with no problems.

timothy jones says:

Great Vid. Thank you. I will be replacing mine and i have heard of the dashes cracking again. what would you recommend doing out of this process to keep the new dash from cracking over time?

Donny Allen says:

I have to acknowledge that this is an excellent excellent video. I have a 2011 Denali, with a crack by the airbag, as shown in the video and a growing crack over the cluster…can I use the same materials in the video to repair?

9mm james says:

at 16:58 he chipped the plastic, he's rough yanking that plastic. but who cares he works at dealership customer will have to pay for what he breaks

Erica says:

Five minutes in, and I can tell you that this is the BEST video on how to remove the dash. Nice Job!

Alex Ponce says:

A little to rough on the panels I think. specially if it's a customers truck.

XC2long4u says:

I have a black dash, woo hoo! Cracked dash not so good. 🙁

Paul M says:

Larry Sbrusch says:

Great video on replacing original or repairing it..If this is over your head, you can visit TXDashcovers for the ABS Vacuum moulded dash cap that takes less than 30 minutes to install over top of existing cracked or broken dashboard

Ibrahim Khalifi says:

Great عمل رائع good device the Astro 7600 Hot Staple Gun. It is excellent will done to get the dash out step by step GREAT JOB…. Thank you so much

Stephen Fox says:

wow, a lot of time but great results and a way to save big money.

Keith Boley says:

This video was a great help! Thank you for taking the time. It saved me $400.00 for a new dash and the price of labor. All this was done fro my free labor and a $99.00 hot stapler. Did it on my 2009 GMC Sierra. Had a crack by the airbag and 12" crack over the instrument cluster.

Carl Dupre says:

7mins into the video, and i made my mind up to pay the bill…

nathan7727 says:

Awesome job! Only issue I saw was using a metal screwdriver to remove plastic interior parts. As someone who ran a company for years manufacturing automotive interiors (including dashes, consoles and seat trim), you should really use a non-marring prying device. You did great, though, until you nicked an edge when prying the part away right under the windshield. Super impressed at your speed, skill, and ability to do this mainly one-handed! Have to get this done on my 2008 Avalanche soon.
