So, I ended up just taking the Radiator hose off. Made it quicker. The
bottom was not working for me. I believe I got the line ALL the way in this
time, though last time it was all the way in..I think. My e-clip seems to
be a little loose, hopefully that doesn’t affect anything and it stays on
this time.
If you can’t reach it from the top, you could try it from underneath to see
if you can attach it back together. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
So, I just replaced my radiator. My lower Tranny cooling line popped off.
Is there an easy way to getting the E-Clip that hold the line into the
radiator back on without removing the Radiator hose right above it? From
below, I can get the clip in place, but I cannot push it back on, Any tips?
If it’s coming out of the radiator cap, you may need to replace the
radiator cap with a new one. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
hey i have a problem with my car.its a 1999 mitsubishi eclipse. it just
started overflowing the coolant coming from radiator.
my 2000 s10 blazer has a crack in the tank on radiator on the driver side,
is there a way to fix the tank or do i have to replace the whole radiator?
@1aauto yes it was very involve for the one with the oil cooler line from
the filter to the engine.
As far as the trans and oil cooler lines, all you need is a jewelers screw
driver, and carefully remove the snap rings. (most new radiators come with
new rings, you just don’t want to damage the fittings.)

That should be fine. When you go to loosen the line keep an eye on the line
while you loosen the nut to make sure it doesn’t twist and kink the line on
you. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
By the way I really appreciate all these videos you guys have up they have
been invaluable in undoing a lot of the terrible things the previous owner
of this truck did.
@lokislapdancer That’s great to hear.Thank you for watching!
@woof216 It should be similar to the one shown in this video.
omg my radiator broke today and it was bad i was driving and i accelerated
and smoke came from my hood i opened and the radiator had a crack i dont
know what happen, so tommorrow ill buy one and replaced myself that should
save me some money, thank you for all the great videos.
is it ok to remove oil and trans lines from radiator with a wrench?
@hammond1524 If the fittings on the oil cooler lines are fine and in good
shape, you can reuse them.
you guys are great for showing us weekend mechanics how to do some work on
our vehicles.
You may want to check next to the spot that it’s leaking from to see what
the issue may be.
@woof216 You may have to put some tension on the fastener that the screw
goes into. You should be able to leave the fan attached as we did in this
video. Hope this helps you out.
I have a small 4 cylinder s10 xtreme and the radiator is messed up and it
is almost a joke to see how small it is I wanted to know if a radiator from
a v6 s10 would fit on it?
question 02 ZR2, replaced radiator, lower shroud was out of place , not in
the 3 clips, far below the fan blades. they used 3 1/2 ” long bolts w/ 2″
spacer slevees between upper & lower shroud to lower it. lower shroud had a
hole wore throught it from the blades. I got a new lower shroud , put it in
the 3 clips holes , used 1 1/2 ” bolts no spacers bolted the 2 haves
together so they touch & it locked up the fan tight, all i can see to do is
to cut an 1″ off the front of lower shroud ?
@1aauto it is a completely stock 2000 regular cap s10 xtreme with a small
intake other than that it is all original.
Thanks men , i got a chevy s10 and this video helped me to change my
antfereeze
do you have a video on how to install engine oil cooler line. I know there
is a video like that on youtube by a normal average person but I forgot
what I search to find it.
i had the same problem getting the little plug off to drain it
@1aauto I already done both of mine engine oil cooler line on Sunday
3/11/2012 and the only one that is very difficult was the one that goes
from the oil filter to the engine. It is because you have to drop the front
differential fully to the ground because there is no easier way. The engine
oil cooler line from the oil filter to the radiator is the easiest to do.
its to bad it doesnt show the space between upper and lower shroud or the
bolts so i can see lenght of them and the way the shroud has points on the
upper that fits into a hole on on the lower shrould it seem like they go
togather tight, i think mine has been switch around and it has a two inch
space between the halves, but thanks anyway, Im going look for an O2 ZR2
with an automatic in a car lot so I can see those things
@MileyCyrus192 Thanks for stopping by. We currently do not have an auto
repair video that shows this particular repair. We’ll keep this in mind in
the event that we need to make this repair in the future.
Hi…I love your videos..you have saved me tons of money..I was wanting to
know, I just bought a 2001 chevrolet from someone that hit a deer and I had
2 questions. 1 ..it is a stickshift and I did not see any hoses hooked to
the tranny cooler hookups..is that because it is a stick shift? 2. What is
that big pump looking thing right under the front bumper? Thank You for
your help
Yes it wouldn’t need a tranny cooler. The big pump, could be a smog pump,
without being able to see it, it’s kind of hard to tell. Thanks for
visiting us on YouTube.
Thanks for the video, it helped me alot!
I figure it out after i wrote, someone replace lower shroud bolts with
bolts and locking nuts that were rusted so bad they were trying to seize,
undoing the line near the radiator cap so the shroud would move and
removing the fitler box i was able to get a 1/2″ breaker bar on top of
lower bolts and a 3/8 ” ratchet and deep socket on the lower nuts and a
1/2″ breaker bar on top and it took all my muscle, the bar was trying to
seize all the way to the end and yes WD-40 on them. The shroud is out.
@Jesuscarrasco Yes it is usually faster just to slowly pull a hose off but
it allows less control of where the coolant goes so make sure you have a
large catch pan.
We currently do not have an auto repair video on a 99 Oldsmobile Intrigue,
that shows this particular repair. We’ll keep this request in mind in the
event that we need to make this repair in the future.
@theskybreakers123 Thanks for the tips!!
I noticed the previous owner of my 1998 GMC Sonoma / S10 4.3L 6 cyl auto
trans, bypassed the oil cooler lines. Will this cause any major problems?
It was done during an engine swap. There will be no towing done with this
vehicle just commuting.
@hondabeatsyamaha Here’s a link to them on our website for your year. It
would just matter if it was a manual or an automatic. Hope this helps you
